    I've gotta agree.:good

I think Roy Jones said it best during the Trinidad fight- Wright doesn't have KO power, but he's got "lead in his punches".

What that means is, he basically gives A-level fighters headaches.

The first Mosley fight was a great example- I literally was getting a headache watching those repeated jabs land. And those were good ones, too.

Actually when Wright fought Julio Cesar Vasquez, the commentators at the time had spoke of him as being a power puncher. As he went on with his career it was apparent that it wasn't his power was diminishing as much as it was his level of opposition that was changing in terms of taking a punch...he had also fought some tough guys. I remember before the Taylor/Pavlik fight thinking Jermain's power was overrated due to lackluster performances and an inability to truely hurt anyone after the 2 Hopkins fights. He hurt Pavlik though, which then trumped my opinion of his power. But these are not feather-fisted fighters...neither did I state Greb or Whitaker were feather-fisted just light punchers.

Nobody is saying he HAS no power. Just that he doesn't sit down on his punches, he throws them very lightly, hence the 'slapping' label!

And anyone who says Mayweather Jr (someone in the 2nd or 3rd page said that) is feather fisted is an IDIOT. Why do people keep getting away with saying this ****? Floyd has GOOD power. He's not a power puncher, but he puts a LOT into his punches. He has scored many good knockouts over tough opponents! Also he is the most accurate puncher in the sport, with some of the best timing, and great handspeed. Even if he didnt have power - punching like that hurts!

That El Gallito was always trying to say "He he is a veru soft puncher!"

Some fighters elect not to be a power puncher. Camacho was one who was an excellent boxer and had some power until he met up with Rosario. After that fight, then it was safety first which in fact aligns possibly with feather fisted. I will be very interested to find out if Chris Byrd will be feather fisted at LH.

I agree, he was really snapping Hatton's neck back with those right hands.

I also agree. It is all about timing with him. If he gets the opportunity to use a power shot, the he will fire, but he is more likely to outbox you.

But he DOES have power. If you have ever hit a heavy bag.... watch carefully he how throws his left hook (not the leaping leading left hook, but his power shot), he puts a LOT into that. He really whips it around hard putting tons of power on it.

His right hand COUNTERS too have good pop on them, the uppercuts and straight rights from his defensive stance.

Its not that I think he is a natural power puncher, but he knows how to punch with power. His jab to the body for example... he knows how to STEP into it and throw it hard enough to take the wind out of his opponents!

I am not disagreeing with you. Yes, he does have some power. I am a former golden glove fighter and yes I know about hitting a heavy bag. Just remember, hitting the heavy bag and actually connecting a fighter with the vicious punches you throw at the heavy bag is way more difficult. Again, he is a great boxer that can use power when it is needed. Remember, he even stated that he is a showman so power shots will be used if it presents itself with PBF.

Zahir Raheem is a fighter not too many fans talk about. He is a very talented fighter. Beating Morales and getting robbed by Popo should have raised him up into the echelon of the elite, but he is not mentioned anywhere. I would love to see him fight Nate. He also got robbed by Rocky Suarez.

Well yeah thats exactly what I meant actually. I totally agree with everything you said.

Those big left hooks though Floyd DOES land. After he first knocked down Hatton for example, the punch he knocked him out with was one of those vicious left hooks.
