bull****, guys. i've seen the guy do over 450 regularly. i'll get his stats in the next days. I know he has won the vegas competition numerous times.
Arnold Schwarzenneger's max was 550 your going to tell me Rahman was doing almost as much??? Whatever!!! And Flamengo you think anyone even remotely associated with Aussie boxing is a superman. Tszyu was not benching 300+ pounds. He may have said it on his destiny DVD but that is total bull****. Some of these guys talk so much **** its ridiculous.
Klompy.... when did I claim Tszyu was ever benching at all? I simply suggested he'd be doing weights for strength conditioning.... No doubt in the off season. Take ya tongue out of Lotts backside. Moron. ....Nothing wrong with Aussie boxing.. and I am Superman. Chew on that Lex. :hi:
I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. The world record for raw bench is a little over 700lbs (anyone whos lifted anything like this has been well over 300lbs). The record for <240 is around 600lbs.
Double Denim bench shirts can be good for 200lbs on an elite bencher if he knows how to use it and is trained for using it. When using some of these shirts you actually have to pull 500lbs down to your chest because the shirt won't allow gravity to let it drop down BTW Roid Rahman probably does bench 545, but you don't lye on a bench to throw a punch
Are people unaware that men are literally putting up nearly if not a thousand even pounds using differnet methods of bench pressing as of late? And about Arnold... The man was bodybuilder, not a powerlifter. MASSIVE difference.
Sure, why not? Rahman is a very thickly-built fighter and a big man - as big as Arnold. Rahman no doubt trained extensively with weights. Arnold was not known as a particularly strong bodybuilder, unlike his training partner Franco Columbo. Arnold no doubt was strong, but not especially so. I honestly can't see why Rahman cannot bench that weight, provided the lift wasn't excessively strict. A somewhat sloppy, bounce-off-the-chest rep? Why not? The funny thing is, I have more skepticism with Arnold benching 550 than Rahman 520.
Theres plenty of photographs with Arnold working out with over 400lbs on the bench press. There's probably video to support this as well. I would not be surprised if a man that spent the majority of his young life in the weightroom could bench press around twice his bodyweight while juicing. Rahman benching anything over 400 is going to really surprise me. I need a photo or something.
Arnold started out as a powerlifter and had several european records before he became known as a bodybuilder. I would put huge money on the fact that Rahman wasnt pushing up nearly as much as a guy who spent his LIFE lifting weights and was on major roids.
Arnold was ALWAYS a bodybuilder from the beggining and never focused on functional muscle, his max bench is 495, which is good but Rahman is probably doing at least as much Roids and is equally focused on bodybuilding, he certainly isnt any skilled boxer
Not to mention Rahman was doing more recent and advanced anabolics and stacking them for more strength gains. Arnold looked the way he did mostly because of great genetics. His entire body was more eye pleasing and impressive because of traits like his extremely small hips.
