Although Syvia has been dropped his recovery is exellent, I'll never forget when in AA-Sylvia 2 when Andrei hit him with that overhand right it sounded like a baseball bat hitting a tree and took Tim off his feet but he had recovered by the time he hit the ground. I think The Couture punch caught him off guard more then anything i'm sure he didn't expect that from Randy. Besides the Fujita shot Fedor hasn't shown he has any prob taking shots although he's good at not getting hit at all.
If you watch his training video he actually says that... in MMA there really isn't a reason to use boxing defensive technique. You gota stay away from opponents and feel out the distance and holes and then go in. That's pretty much what he does all the time.
