It's good to see Fedor go out with a win but Rizzo was just there to play punching bag. He didn't even try to attack.

    It's official: :-(

Russian mixed martial arts legend Fedor Emelianenko has announced his retirement after knocking out Brazilian veteran Pedro Rizzo.

It took Emelianenko just 44 seconds to knock out Brazilian veteran Pedro Rizzo on Thursday, putting him on the ground with a serious of punches and then finishing with more strikes to the head.

"I think it is time I quit," Emelianenko said.

"My family influenced my decision. My daughters are growing without me, that's why it's time to leave."

"I made a final decision. This was my last fight. I'm leaving the sport for the sake of his family, for the sake of children. At this point I want to devote more time to his daughters", - the words of a correspondent Emelianenko "Chempionat.com" Constantine Ustyantsev.

Fedor also said that no money will be able to influence his decision, but did not deny the fact that things can change, and he will return to the ring.

"All of God's will. I made a decision, but it is unknown how the Lord God to dispose of the further fate" - said Fedor

I think that it's a good time for him to retire.

Hopefully they don't bring him back to fight Cormier.

Just what I said after the Hendo fight, and what a ridiculous amount of abuse you get for holding that opinion. The butthurt and man-lust and Cult of Fedor was so much it was overwhelming.

I said it then, he wasn't shot, he just fought dumb. :good

Man I just hope...and I know I'm dreaming, that after seeing that fight BBF do the only thing a MMA fan would do...and it's to call him....

    So pissed....just so ****in pissed...

I think the Silva loss is the most understandable. I judge Fedor far more harshly for the Hendo and particularly the Werdum losses.

Werdum he was just plain sloppy and had zero respect for his opponent's abilities. He paid the price for disregarding his opponent's skillset.

Bigfoot I thought maybe he was just too big and strong and skilled for Fedor. No shame in being beaten by a monster. But I haven't seen that fight so I can't have too strong an opinion.

Hendo, again, Fedor was extremely sloppy and impatient, and paid no respect to his opponent, a fellow top-5 ATG.

And what is this BBF? :huh Big Bad Fertitta? :conf
