Lesnar is also not Matt Lindland or Mark Hunt; or more seriously he's not Coleman. Both would be a very challenging fight for the other.
Whether or not you want to admit it, if Lesnar got Fedor down and put him into a bad position it could be all over. Lesnar has the power and size to put Fedor into a bad position and GNP him until the ref stops it. It would be interesting to see if Lesnar would be able to get it down without getting tagged. And I am not a fan of Lesnar, just speaking the truth
Absolutely true; the main reason I would make Fedor a favorite in the fight is that Fedor can win or at least not lose from the bottom, Brock can't. So while Brock on top of Fedor is the most likely scenario, if Fedor ends up on top, it is probably even more dangerous due to Brocks lack of a particuarly offensive bottom game. Make no mistake though; anybody who thinks that Lesnar can't possibly beat Fedor sensless to a stoppage from the top is delusional.
Fedor's ground game>Mir's Brock would probably have a chance with UFC rules. Elbows, elbows, elbows. Brock would get his arm snapped if he throws punches. Fedor can also Zulu Brock.
I was waiting for this one Beebs , you're quite predictable. That's a bit too easy though. It's a bit like a creationist asking to an atheist to prove that god doesn't exist. When the burden of proof is on the claimant of the positive claim that mister imaginary friend X exists. Ok , maybe this isn't an appropriate comparison. But you sound more like a pissed off guy who wants to be right "just because"...Instead of looking at Lesnar's case rationally. You're talking about a 4-1 guy. Who has yet to prove anything. He started his career by almost destroying Mir (when the ref intervened)...Ended up , getting subbed like an amateur (which he was) He then made a statement in the ufc division by defeating Heath Herring. At this point in his career. There's nothing Lesnar can do that fedor can't. Fedor was never confronted to Frank Mir...He had to do better. Beat prime Nogueira. He already beat Heath Herring in 2002. Again , Lesnar did it...But so did Fedor , and i maintain...Not only was fedor's victory more impressive , but it even shows that he hits harder than Lesnar. Then Lesnar defeated Couture. Once again , the 2 most memorable things about this fight ? Him showing signs of fatigue & struggling to outpower a way smaller (and older) opponent. Lesnar is a great athlete but we're not dealing with Karelin here. Finally , i'm supposed to believe that this 4-1 fighter would be fedor's biggest threat after seeing what happened against these opponents ? 1 - Heath Herring ?....2002 , fedor did it better. 2 - Couture ?...even Past prime Nogueira had a more exciting fight. 3 - Mir ? who's crowning career achievement is beating Nogueira in 2008 ? Fedor did it in 2003. Mir ? the poor man's nogueira...The guy who's known for losing his calm whenever he can't stick to his gameplan. Please watch Ian Freeman vs Mir...Even if we ignore this one...how can we forget his 2006 fight against Brandon Vera ? Lindland ain't Lesnar , he's BETTER.... He won silver in greco. Lesnar didn't. Lindland knows his subs...Lesnar doesn't. Lindland has a 21-6 record...Lesnar has a 4-1 record. Please stop the insanity. All because of his physical size ? his athleticism ? So in your mind , Fedor would be in the turtle position like Herring was ? He'd be scared shitless ? You're talking about a guy who already defeated 5 ufc champions. Coleman is not Lesnar... You're right...HE'S BETTER. awarded a spot on the US Wrestling team, placing seventh overall in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona , has a 16 wins - 9 losses record. Sure he's past his prime...sure there's 9 losses... But he's been in the mma circuit for years. Had to confront prime Nogueira , prime Fedor , prime Crocop , prime Mauricio Shogun , prime Igor Vovchanchyn...he's been ufc champ twice. Won a grand prix. Was inducted into the UFC hall of fame. And here you are , getting all excited for a guy who's got a 4-1 record , who's best victories are over a washed up herring , past prime randy & Frank Mir. Reply if you want , but as far as i'm concerned..this conversation is over.
This is the crux of the matter. Randy has had his ass beaten much worse than by Brock vs Nog. Nog was more dominant on the ground even. Herring is well a washed up version of an average fighter. Mir is Lesnars only properly legit win. Mir gets his ass kicked from his own guard a lot and when he does his offence goes down the tubes. His only hope of beating Fedor is via cuts, he is not going to KO Fedor on the ground because he is not going to control Fedor like he did Frank Mir and to do that much damage without being able to ragdoll Fedor he would have to posture up and throw something heavy in which case he would loose an arm.
Done here too if you think Lindland or Coleman would make it out of the first 3 minutes with Lesnar. Lindland better than Lesnar? You're a ****ing idiot.
Fedor didn't fight him at his best; more importantly no matter what ****ing way you spin it MATT LINDLAND IS NOT BETTER THAN BROCK LESNAR.
Surely you're not that dense are you ? ... Lindland & Coleman are both more legit opponents than Lesnar ever will. Whether Lesnar would be able to own them both is a different question. Tell you what though...I wouldn't be surprised to even see a guy of Lindland's size lasting the distance vs Lesnar. Considering the time it took Brock to finish washed up herring , and how gassed the guy was against past prime couture , i personally wouldn't be shocked at all... Keep living in your fantasy world though. Dana's world that is. where a 4-1 guy who looks the part is the new king of the entire sport of mma. Keep it up Beebs...I'm impatient to see your next X fighter > Fedor replies when Carwin or someone else finally beats Lesnar... It kinda reminds me of a discussion i once had with a bunch of fans who used to go ape**** over Sokoudjou's back to back Rogerio & Arona KO victories. At the time , the guy had a 4 wins 1 loss record... and he was instantly propulsed as the king of the LHW division & even the "fedor hunter"... :rofl And look at him now... I never bought into the hype...and won't do the same with lesnar. I'll admit , i was shocked when it happened , but at the same time , i still had serious doubts because of his fight against Glover Teixeira. I may be a "****ing idiot" (if that makes you feel better) , But i'm still not in awe at Lesnar's capabilities. So far , all i've seen is a guy who uses his size to his advantage...who's got solid wrestling skills , who's strong but...who (to my surprise) was at times , physically struggling against Randy (maybe that's why he gassed in that fight too)..Who did nothing exceptional over a washed up herring. (again fedor hits harder when you take the time to compare not to mention he did in 2002)...And who's best victory to date , is over Frank Mir. Sorry if picturing fedor in the turtle position & being scared shitless & exhausted is too far fetched for me to imagine Now this conversation is really over.
This isn't a fantasy world; if Lindland was Lesnar's size then maybe he would be better, but he isn't, he is 100lbs smaller. Not to mention Lesnar was a better, far better, folkstyle wrestler than Lindland. To say that Lindland is a more respectable opponent than Lesnar is just the height of absurdity. Have I said Lesnar will beat Fedor? No, I've said Fedor is the favorite if that fight takes place. But to imply Lesnar couldn't beat him is absurd. You claim "Fedor isn't Frank Mir" as if Mir is somehow not a legitimate opponent, despite having a top 2-3 guard in the HW division, and in the same breath say that Lindland is not only a legitimate opponent, but a better one than Lesnar; it is ****ing laughable.
