Felix Sturm, the 44 year old, erstwhile, world middleweight champion is going up against 39 year old Sukru Altay. The light heavyweight bout seems to be an unnecessary rematch of a fight Sturm won via unanimous decision earlier in 2023. This is Sturm's fifth fight following an almost five year retirement. He is 3-1 in those bouts with his loss coming in an attempt to win the IBF Inter-Continental Super Middleweight strap.
Saw on the schedule for this year that Felix Sturm will fight an opponent to be named later in the light heavyweight division. I think he'll turn 46 this year, he better stay at a low level.
He fought in July this year. Wtf. I thought he retired 20 years ago. Took 4 Years off 2016-20 aside from that and another 2 year lay off been fighting consistently. He bear De La Hoya.
He was in jail for a while during one of those lay offs He was an excellent fighter for many years, great jab.
It's genuinely mind-blowing to me that Fedor Chudinov who was the recipient of one of the worst robberies of 2015 at the hands of Felix Sturm who was old even then. Has been retired for 4 years and he's only 39, and this mother****er is still fighting.
It appears Sturm blew a big lead and needed just 1 of the final 4 rounds to win. He got 96 and 95 which is usually enough. Sturm could have very easily backed into this one but cannot contest a full fight anymore.
I just want to amend something. I read that as "golden shower belt." I had a long day at work and maybe I just read what I wanted to see there.
