Hearns needs to utilize some head movement...he's a sitting duck for that jab.

    Round 5

Hearns shoeshines and throws some nice hooks, behind the elbow and up by the ear of Sturm. Hearns is really laying it on!!! Very aggressive, walking forward behind some heavy hooks and right hands shooting up the middle. Sturm is pulling his head down behind a turtle shell and watching most of these punches land on his arms. Sturm suddenly turns it around and starts thrusting his way in with jabs, to back Hearns up. Hearns is back to his tentative pattern, backing up and jabbing while trying to slip with an elastic waist when he gets to the ropes. Jabs smash into Hearns' face. Hearns throws a few wide nondescript punches, no longer having the space to really put the right angle on those earlier hooks. Sturm walks through everything and elbow blocks as he rapes Hearns with his jab.

    49-46 Sturm

This fight will not make it to the final bell , Hearns will gass out IMO.

Hearns needs to keep hitting that body. Sturm backs up each time Ronald goes there.

Sturm's jab looks as strongs as Hearn's right hands

Looked like Hearns got to Sturm with some of those body punches. Sturm came back though. Some of those body shots might pay dividents later in the fight for Hearns.

You might have to register an account for free on ESPN before using ESPN3.

I'm afraid that 3rd round was about as much drama as we're liable to see here.

Ronald Hearns is sacrificing taking the jab for the punches it sounds like. I am not watching the fight. His dad's punches were so hard even if Tommy did this the punches did so much damage, also Tommy's reach was 78. I think Ronald's is 73

If Hearns would throw some uppercuts, he could split the guard and drill Sturm. Doesn't seem to be in his repertoire though.

if he had more fights vs. top guys he would probably do this. He is afraid of a counter probably.
