He was an idiot. People should be well aware of how bias Thriller in Manilla, the documentary, is in favor of Frazier, however.
That he was dumb for fighting Ali in Manila. Instead of giving him credit for having a warrior's heart, and all the will and determination you would hope every fighter possessed, he just called him dumb.
I think Frazier took an unbelievable beating in rounds 13 and 14. Not only would the fight have been stopped at that point if it took place today, but if it was allowed to carry on, both rounds would have been 10-8.
He might mean career wise. I was going to reply in your context but kept thinking it's career not actual fight.
yeah totally unbelieveable hes dumb for saying a guy thats blind shouldn't be in the ring and is dumb for being in one .. how astounding
To be fair, Pachecko has critized that decision. He quit as Ali's doctor in 76 or 77, because he felt that Ali shouldn't go on anymore. Ali's kidneys were shot by that.
He does come off as a bit self-righteous. There is a lot of Ferd worship because he told Ali to quit, and that fact alone seems to have gone to his head.
