Zanfer Promotions president Fernando Beltran spoke with Fight___ today and answered questions regarding a proposed Oscar De La Hoya vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. fight and the February 7 Jorge Travieso Arce vs Vic Darchinyan super flyweight world title fight. Beltran co-promotes both Chavez Jr. and Arce with Top Rank. When asked about the possibility of a De La Hoya-Chavez Jr. fight, he commented, As of right now the negotiations have not begun but I can tell you from our side we want this fight for sure. Despite his loss to Manny Pacquiao last month, we still feel De La Hoya is an excellent fighter who has had an outstanding career. We very much are looking forward to him and Chavez Jr. fighting. When asked about the upcoming fight between unified world super flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan and challenger Jorge Travieso Arce, he commented Im so happy this fight is finally going to happen. Darchinyan is really a clown and I say that because he runs his mouth so much. I find it funny because he has no fan drawing power at all when it comes to ticket sales. If he doesnt fight a well known fighter like Arce maybe ten people would show up to his fights and most of those ten would be his own team members. Arce always takes his opponents very seriously and handles his business in the ring not with his mouth. Darchinyans people labeled Arce Farce in the past but well see who is the farce on February 7th.

anything could happen in the mist of trading shots but i think vic learned his lesson as far as complete recklessness. you must have a thing for arce or you just dont like vic because you in your right mind knows that vic is the favorite.
