This fight has got the hairs on the back of my neck stood on end !!!!!

Donaire opening as the favourite is suprising , i thought Montiel would of been slight favourite with the bookys , that demolition job Donaire done on Senchenko must of swayed them .

This is a great great fight , ive got Montiel by TKO , thats what i said when i first heard the fight was announced and thats what im sticking with

I kind of see it as a slight shame that Donaire has to fight a fighter like Montiel right now , stylistically he is Donaire's cryptonite , and its clear that Donaire will eventually go up and take on the top FW's and give them all they can handle , if he does lose to the murderous puncher Montiel i wonder what effect it will have on his career longterm ???

Im making reference to Donaire's future conquests , its clear he's going to a be a superstar in the higher weight classes and there are some massive massive fights there , if he runs into the wrecking machine that is Montiel and gets beaten and then beaten again that sort of puts that plan into tatters !!!

And it would be a bit of a shame because i wanna see this kid fight Juanma in the next 18 months tops :deal

 

I dot rate him that highly tbh, though I will change my tune if he beats Fernando impressively.

 

Donaire's a little overrated as a result of laying Vic out. Montiel's a little underrated because of his losses. This is an even fight for me - I think Montiel is a worker and he'll be looking to work Donaire over.

Donaire's very stylish and has excellent punch-placement. He's a big guy but won't have that advantage against Montiel, who also seems very sturdy.

Donaire will need to do damage to Montiel early - maybe break Fernando's nose or similar to make his mid-rounds assault less brutal.

 

I think Donaire takes him out inside 3 rounds. I get why you say he is over rated DF. I heard an interview with him where he said he wasn't motivated for his Super Flyweight fights and was going through the motions. tend to beleive him based on his last win where he looked sensational.

 

Montiel did struggle against Jhonny Gonzalez who was a big bantam and Donaire will also hold a size advantage over Montiel.

Donaire, to me, seems the type that relishes the big stage and performs better. In the under-the-radar fights he's had since Darchinyan he hasn't always sparkled but against Sidorenko he was brilliant.

I can see a Montiel win but it will probably be a come from behind type stoppage. Donaire will use his speed and size to dominate early on and if Montiel is still there in the middle rounds he'll have opportunities as Donaire can fade down the stretch.

But I'm going for a Donaire win, will be his coming out party.

 

Donaire for me nobody does that to Siderenko. Montiel has a banger's chance but thats it. Hes far too wide with his shots. Donaire has advantages in every department

 

Tough one to call and I'm just happy to tune in and watch what unfolds. Montiel has some great Ko wins on his resume while the better technical skills are with Donaire.

I'm watching as many downloads of these guys as I can get my hands on and its just tough calling a winner.
