21 year old Vargas beating Winky Trumps anything Martinez has ever done... Him beating Quartey is a nail in the coffin

I have Martinez winning this one by decision or late KO...but Martinez wins.

Either that or another example of Short Term Memory Syndrome.

Winky Wright's not Sergio Martinez, and Vargas getting that decision was questionable.

I've been watching boxing for 20+ years. The difference between you and I? I've been paying attention.

Feroz is the ordinary one, not Martinez. Furthermore, I'm certain Martinez would have picked Trinidad apart. Matter of fact, I'm going to start a poll on that very subject right now (not that the results will change my outlook, just curious how smart the folks online right now are).

Questionable to anyone with an agrenda to make Winky look more credible... A green Vargas was spoonfed to a Monster and still showed signs of greatness.... When have we ever seen anything remote to that??? Williams-Martinez1.... Yea I still choose Vargas

Vargas looked pretty in that fight, Winky looked gritty in that fight. The judges on that particular night favored pretty over gritty. Hence, the result. I personally thought it was a draw.

I see what you're gettin at... But at best he put on a Glen Johnsonn type fight... Much more than what was expected but clearly not enough for the win...

I'm not saying the decision was an outrage or anything. But that "W" launched Vargas' status, whereas a draw would have been a hinderance.

The fact that Vargas was able to compete at such a level with a prime Winky Wright is a testament to his level of talent.Certainly better to win a close decision against an elite fighter at his peak than it is to lose one to Paul "The punching bag" Williams.

A prime Winky Wright>>>>>>>> Sergio Martinez.

Usually Nando is underrated in fantasy matchups.. ..This is a pretty close matchup,, I would have picked Vargas to have edged the Martinez of the 1st WIlliams fight(which i thought Martinez edged) or at any JM version.. But I think Martinez has improved,is hitting harder at MW.

At JM Vargas could possibly pull out a late stoppage but more likely ill go with a close decision for FEROZ.

Say a peaking Vargas meets the 2010,2011 version at MW?? Great fight and closely contested, put im thinking Martinez catches him at some point and stops Vargas....Evenly fought till Martinez catches Vargas in the mid to late rounds Martines Ko 8 or 9

I also scored it a draw.. Those who say robbery are exaggerating, could have gone either way.

Although from what i recall,,Vargas is the one who showed grit in the late rounds,,Which IMO saved him from his first "L"
