Glad to see that he's back on track. I'd like to see him return to SF and fight Valentijn Overeem and Bigfoot Silva. He's got good power but needs to work on stamina and developing a well-rounded game.
i was very disappointed with his performance in the Reem fight, i thought he could win if he just Touched his chin. Too bad he was literally thrown like a child in the first couple seconds.
Losing a round to Warpath is pretty unforgivable. Hell, even going to decision against Warpath is unforgivable. Rogers clearly has a lot of work to do before he can hang with the top dogs of the division. Arlovski is definitely a good win to have on your record, but I don't think he would win a rematch if it were to happen.
Terrible performance against Overeem, just folded early. A motivated Rogers Vs Big Foot would be very entertaining IMO.
If you look at the style matchup and Rogers career thus far its not really that supprizing. Warpath isnt up to much as a fighter but the guy has a hell of a chin and Rogers depends greatly on his power standing plus has never seen the 3rd round before. Coker was talking about Rogers vs Lavar Johnson for early next year.
Rogers would kill Brock with his superior punches and would outlast Carwin with his superior stamina. I would put Brock above both Carwin and Brock after that performance.
Rogers needs to start by getting in shape. No excuses, he is supposed to be an athlete. He then needs to work on his game. He is big and strong but needs some technique on his striking and grappling.
I wasnt. Thats the gulf in class between veterans like Overeem and rookies like Rogers. What was VERY impressive is that despite Rogers being the bigger man Overeem was clearly far far stronger than him. He tossed him around like a ragdoll. Impressive for a guy who used to look like a broom stick at 205.
Completely agree. He needs to get down to 240. And really start working on his striking. So far he's just getting away with being big and having heavy hands.
