The ones I'm setting you for your H/W are based off @Flo_Raiden's list in his "Most Exciting Fighter Out Of These Guys" thread. Should be the dogs bollocks!

Bobby Chacón vs Boza Edwards 1
Nigel Benn vs Chris Eubank 1

To be honest, I don't mind the odd chess match with a close/controversial decision thrown in for good measure in these threads. It was just that 6 of them in one thread was a bit of an ask...

    Round by Round

Wow! Awesome fight. Izzy and Óscar brought it. Óscar's volume won most rounds, they were all very competitive. The last 3 were quite hard to score too.

Oscar Larios v Israel Vasquez 2

This is more like it @George Crowcroft!

Really good back and forth war between two tough Mexicans. That should be enough to advertise it to anyone who hasn't seen it before. By the 8th they were pretty much slugging it out with little regard for defense. If I didn't know the result, I'd have had the impression that Vasquez was going to come back and maybe even stop Larios but his momentum was stopped in the 10th and from that point Larios seemed to find an extra gear to put Vasquez away. Cracking fight!

    10 10-9
    11 9-10 (what a war!)

    12 Larios TKO Vasquez

As a Pops super fan, watching that ending ain't fun. But mannnnnn, what a fight! I'm all over it whenever I have the chance. The 2nd too, which I may do tomorrow. I love watching Pops' head-movement when he's weaving under arms and countering hard from awkward ass angles. It's mesmerising, plus his defence wasn't actually very functional as he got hit plenty. Johnson's stamina is definitely his issue, but his chin is much better than advertised. Taking wacks like he did for round after round at the end there is confirmation of someone's toughness.

Saad was, well... Saad! Prime Mathew would never lie down and accept his fate, after being 9-2 down he rallied in the finale to knock the **** out of his man. That celestial-bronze chin, the outstanding conditioning, the HUGE bomber power and the heart of a lion wore on his sleeve; It's one helluva combo! And one which puts a smile on a viewer's face, that's for damn sure.

Unbelievable fight. If ain't my favourite, it's top 3. Both of these guys would probably make a top 12 Favourites if I was to make it again. Marvin is literally my #2 after Charles.

We had it near identical - same score except round 5 which I gave to Vasquez. I much prefer him as a fighter to Larios, who I'd never really seen much of but Larios fought a great fight. He seemed much bigger than Vasquez, who got caught a lot trying to come in.

I watched the first fight afterwards- that was a shocker considering the punches Larios was taking in the rematch!

    Cornelius Boza-Edwards v Bobby Chacon 1

Terrific battle that I had pretty even going into the 10th before Boza started to take control and pummel Chacon. Of course, Chacon would never quit but his corner did the right thing as he was only going to take a worse beating over the last two rounds and lose a decision if he survived.

Some great action though with the 3rd, 4th and 9th being standout rounds. Amazingly, they'd had an even better fight two years later.

    1 9-10
    2 9-10 (close)
    3 10-9 (great action)
    4 9-10 (another great round)
    5 10-10 (slower round)
    6 10-9
7 10-9 (Boza starting to take control)
    8 10-9
9 9-10 (incredible action. Chacon rocks Boza, but Boza comes back, but so does Bobby!)
10 10-9 (close but Boza edged it with the final flurries of the round)
11 10-9 (great stuff from both fighters but Boza ends round stronger and Bobby is bleeding more now)
12 10-9 (big round for Boza. Bobby looks in trouble now)
13 10-9 (no way back now for Bobby. He's getting dominated.)
    (126-122)
14 Boza Edward TKO Chacon (Chacon's team pull him out)

Ahh, the Brit-Scene, a great, fiery, and very real rivalry between two of the fruitiest characters in boxing's rich history. Two characters, who are often underrated.

A British classic! I've always been a Benn guy, but I'm no hater of Eubank Sr, but this was awesome. Obviously scoring doesn't matter here, but it wasn't a hard one to score. I don't know how prevalent is anywhere else but this rivalry is legendary here. Despite the angriness and hate that filled Benn, it was great to see the respect he had for Chris afterwards. As a proud Brit, I tend to like knowing the History of our fighters bit these two surprisingly aren't ones I've dedicated time to. I may change that in the near future.

I don't know if it's the 20/20 view of hindsight talking, but the writing was on the wall that Eubank would've had him. He didn't really ever look like he was in danger of losing and had Benn hurt multiple times before the stoppage. Also the styles really favoured Eubank. A hard-hitting counter-puncher with an iron chin like Chris' spells all sorts of wrong for Benn. The ref once said that this was the most dramatic fight he'd ever refereed, or words to that effect. I believe him.

Round 10: Corrales TKO: Pristine left hook from Castillo within the first 30 seconds slumps Chico to the floor. Weeks feeling the need to show Corrales to the Dr, the Doc immediately sending Chico back into the frey. José pouncing on Diego and within another 10 seconds, Chico's back on the canvas from a stupendously short uppercut hook combination. As he arose, he didn't have his mouth guard and so bought himself another 30 seconds or so. Castillo still pressing his advantage. Chico backed up against the ropes and landed a sharp counter left hook, which staggered Castillo back to the adjoining ropes. Castillo fighting bravely but Corrales pouring it on and after 4 devastating, unanswered punches Weeks steps in and waves it.

Crazy fight. Certainly worthy of FOTY. My scorecard doesn't really reflect just how competitive this fight is. My basis for giving Castillo the better of the rounds was that he was working at a higher rate, with nicer punches. This fight was brutal, both men suffered in their careers from it.

I'm a pretty big Chico fan(RIP), and despite winning, somewhat controversially, I definitely thought Castillo showed himself to be the better fighter, certainly much more skilled. Also, the rematch sorta proved me right. In fact, I'll score that next.

Wow! Amazing fight. Lots of action, but not hard to score in the slightest. Boza dominated most rounds, but some of the rounds he didn't were brilliant, especially rounds 9 and 11. Interesting how Chacón took the rounds which were more hectic and had more exchanges, shows the warrior mentality he had, and that he had massive issues whilst Boza kept it at arm's length.

It's weird watching two guys who I like so much, as I feel uneasy cheering for one, coz it means rooting against the other which doesn't sit right with me.

Good fight but one-sided, 2nd was better, imo.

Diego Corrales v Jose Luis Castillo

Oh my days. It's funny how the memory paints a picture and then when presented with the real thing, it doesn't match up. I remember watching this in 2005 and I had it that Chico and Castillo battled pretty much evenly until the 8th when Corrales started to flag. But the wheels were coming off for both fighters earlier than that.

The first 5 rounds were very good but the fight really exploded in the 6th and from that point on, both men were visibly hurting each other until Castillo made the first significant breakthrough at the start of the 10th. The finish was incredible, of course, but controversial - Corrales rode his luck and the gum shield spitting was clearly deliberate. But the turnaround was remarkable regardless. One of the great modern fights.

    Corrales-Castillo
    1 10-9
    2 9-10
    3 9-10 (close)
    4 10-9
    5 10-9
    6 9-10 (great round)
    7 10-9 (brilliant stuff)
    8 9-10 (Jesus Christ!)
    9 10-9 (I need a lie down)
    (86-85)
    10 Corrales TKO Castillo
