THe two obvious choices for the fight of the year so far. What you got? personally I gotta go with Thurman-Porter, because while Salido-Vargas had more consistent action, Thurman Porter had more exciting moments.

Salido-Vargas wasn't that great. While Porter-Thurman had two of the best welterweights banging it out in the ring.

Thurman-Porter because of skill and stakes

    Thurman-Porter because of the significance.

I enjoyed Thurman-Porter more. It was a higher quality fight and the clash of styles made it super exciting to watch. Vargas vs Salido was a great slugfest but it only made you wonder who will fall first.

I have Salido-Vargas, with some daylight between that and the #2 choice.

I know what people are saying when they factor in the significance of Thurman-Porter but I don't think it was technically a better fight. I think it was sloppier and had less intense action. A very good fight but clearly below Salido-Vargas for me.

A lot more cleaner blows in Salido-Vargas, which makes it exciting

Nobody cares who won Salido-Vargas, the outcome did not matter, it changes nothing in boxing, that alone makes it the lesser fight

What a thoroughly agenda driven observation.
