Hopkins. How many P4P fighters have PBF fought? And how many have Hopkins fought? Which fighter took on all comers and suffered a few losses in the process while another cherry picked his opponents? Sheesh. What a joke at least from my perspective. Hopkins towers over PBF's cherry picked legacy.
Floyd beat 1 P4P-er. Had 2 close fights vs. JLC and Oscar Hopkins beat P4P-er Tito, Oscar, Tarver, Winky and Pavlik and had 3 damn close ones vs. Taylor and Calzaghe.
I'd have half the mind to vote for Manny if he beats DLH. But as mentioned, we have well over a year yet and a lot can happen during which.
I would say Mayweather...Until last night; Now I'd say B-Hop. Hopkins win over Pavlik is right there with Mayweather's win over Chico.
I would have to go with hop he came of age at 36 didnt understimate any of his opponents ony lost to the best and has kept on ticking till 44 years of age plus he moved up in weight pretty smoothly with no problems when he had fought at the same weight his whole career
I really dont think that you can make much of a case for Pac, he isnt nor has he ever been a clear cut number one P4P guy. And most of his beg wins have been fights that could have gone either way. Plus both Floyd and Hop has a greater body of work. In fact I think that one could make just as strong a argument if not stronger for Calzaghe plus Joe hasnt lost, and only the fight with Hopkins can be called into question. I know he had some questionable stoppages but its not like he was losing those fights. Mitchell and shieka and even Manfredo. Pac should have lost to Marquez TWICE was getting hammered vs Sanchaz who had several points taken away and the fight was still a draw. Had a very corrupt ref in his fight with Hussein that saved his ass from being knocked out.
That is very true, plus everyone remembers the fresh Hopkins win over Pavlik. Still Mayweather is tied for #1 with Hopkins right now so it's not so bad.
