Jamie's Boxing Blog has a new blog entry every monday to show appreciation for our fighter of the week.

The Scottish Lightweight deserves all the respect for what he has made of his fantastic career. You look at Burns from the start of his career to when he lost to Alex Arthur and Carl Johannson. Winning the commonwealth and shocking the world when he 'unexpectably' defeated Roman Martinez. After his fantastic victory he has showed the UK and the rest of the world he is THE forced to be wreckoned with.

Juan Carlos Sanchez Jr is in with a shout, but Burns takes it.

A win over mitchel does not make you fighter of the year.

Besides it was a crap stoppage. There was like 5 seconds to the bell. Mitchel wojld have knocked him out mid to late rounds.

Burns is defiantly fighter of the week. and there is a huge argument for fighter of the year cause he is defied all the odds. I mean I was one who thought Mitchell would win but I was totally wrong by far.

Burns is a creadit to someone who is never considered as anything and proved to everyone what dertermination and skill can do for you

    well done ricky

    Are you Mr Tibbs?

  10. I wouldn't say Burns unexpectably beat Martinez.

considering there werent many fight cards stateside this week id say ricky is the obvious winner

just seems to get better and better with every fight

like to see burns-rees in the new year and then have the winner (hopefully ricky) head stateside for the superfights

I actually think Framptons win was just as good if not better.

    Week?

Would be more worthwhile doing it per month. Not enough fights happen in a week for there to be any value in a 'fighter of the week'.
