What do you base your choice on then? I mean, you and I will agree that he has nobody even remotely as good as Canelo, Donaire or Matthysse on his resume, right?

Maybe so but Rosado, Ishida, Macklin and Stevens are definitely NOT P4P fighters. none of them are even as good as Robert Guerrero let alone Nonito Donaire.

What does that even mean? Hoopla is to be rewarded for its own sake?

In fairness, most thought that Judah- Garcia was up for grabs more than Mayweather- Guerrero, as everyone knew Guerrero had no chance and people was questioning how impressive Garcia's wins over shot to **** Morales and 'glass jawed' Khan really was.

None of those guys are even top 25 P4P. Maybe not 30. I think GGG will take it 2014, I think he'll adjust his competition.

But this year it's either Floyd, Bradley, Stevenson, Or Garcia.

FMJ comp top 10 p4p? Really? Only people on this list to fight legit p4p fighters are Bradley and RG. RG gets credit for good win over Donaire, sure. But he only fought once, Bradley beat a legit p4p in JMM and a top notch contender-now-beltholder in Prov.

Speaking relative to skill within division, and not TV notoriety in the USA is GGG comp as relatively good as FMJ? Absolutely. Guerrero and Alvarez are good fighters, sure. But the FMJ pre fight hype machine has obviously elevated their percieved standing. Something I have noticed, is most people only even knew who was who in MW division prior to this year via their relative proximity to and fights with Martinez. Esp in USA.

Brits and Euros paid a bit more attention it seems, which is incidentally largely why GGG gets more credibility that some feel he deserves. People familiar with MW, and the Euro aspect have known all the top Euro guys ran from GGG for years. If a fighter thinks they will lose to someone, chances pretty high they would. Looked like Murray was gonna man up finally and go for GGG belt Feb 1, but instead has grabbed a spot on upcoming undercard..

FMJ in comparison.. best p4p sure, but he fought two good opponents. A good year, but not a FOTY worthy year. Thinking it is, is just thikning that the guy you think is technically the best overall should be FOTY... which eliminates any purpose for FOTY in the first place... just have p4p ranking and thats it in that case.

why? by beating 2 guys he was supposed to beat? Garcia has a better shout than floyd. The 4 guys GGG beat as a whole are also more impressive

GGG's hasn't had big fights due to no fault of his own.

Top fighters are avoiding him LIKE THE PLAGUE
