The fight against Clottey was boring but look deeply into the fight, Pac showed a superb boxing skill that forced Clottey to turn into a turtle shell the whole fight. The fight against Margaritto, Pac went toe to toe with a bigger foe. Pac didn't knock him down but Margarito spent some time at the hospital for a surgery after the fight. NOTE: Pacquaio's sportmanship on the last two rounds.
Martinez should get it without doubt two wins by Ko against very dangerous well respected opposition. Much props to pacman though a close 2nd, but this year it should be Martinez
Martinez plz sir! Pac getting it would be predictable and boring as ****, nothing taken away from Pac 'cause he did real great. But I think Maravilla deserved it more based on his recent accomplishment where people doubted him greatly. He scored a FOTY candidate with PW He scored an upset against Pavlik He scored an upset KO against PW II Pac did what he was supposed to do but Sergio did what he wasn't supposed to, so MARAVILLA for fighter of the year!!!!!
Deffinately Martinez! Dude upset the middleweight "king" and Stopped PW in the rematch. i was hoping for another technical brawl like everyone else but seriously no one could have predicted what happened and imo Martinez was against much tougher opposition
If Martinez doesn't get the fighter of the year award then boxing is a disgrace in a worse possible way. In his last 2 fights he was the underdog. In his last 2 fights he beat bigger fighters in great fashion. He bloody the hell out of Pavlik and he ko Williams similar to the way Pacquiao ko Hatton. It don't matter what's the results if Pascal or Hopkins win in their next fight. <<<No other fighter this year can surpass Martinez awesome accomplish and the way he did it.
It's not impossible, but it's only on the very boundaries of possibility. Pascal would have to completely outclass Hopkins in a way nobody else has done to get the nod.
