I don't count losing as having a close fight, almost all the fight you listed were clear losses, but is still a great list, most of them besides Ali and Rocky pretty much avoided close fights during his career, Ali himself had a really close fight with Doug Jones, close fights with Norton, with Jimmy Young, etc...
Tyson had a close one versus Ruddock and Lewis got a scare against Mercer… I've got some undefeated contenders/champs but there must be lots of this type: Artur Beterbiev Bud Crawford Naoya Inoue Oooh wait, I got one….Guillermo Rigondeux!
How about Julian Jackson - Usually he knocks his foe out but the few times he doesn't it's The Hawk who doesn't hear the bell.
Tarver 1 was not prime jones. Jones started slipping visibly around 2000-2001. In terms of activity level and time spent absorbing shots against the ropes vs being in the middle of the ring. Tito had quite a few close fights. Vargas, DLH Tyson had close fights with ruddock, tillis, botha and danny williams. Tyson looked like thomas was gonna take him to deep water and drown him in rounds 3, 4 and 5 before tyson knocked him out. Lewis had close fights against mercer, holyfield rematch, bruno. Hamed had a close one against kelley. The jackson and obviously the benn fight was close in McClellans case. So prime roy is pretty much the only guy
I don't count no one being knocked out as a close fight, in that case you either won or lost clearly.
