I feel like pointing to Lewis’ and the K Bros size primarily does them a major disservice, and downplays their extraordinary abilities as fighters.

History shows us that you are Entirely correct. Most very large heavyweights are useless. Lewis was an exception. There are always exceptions. But because of that exception, one ATG top ten champion being an actual 6’5” SHW the world has to suffer a division devoted only to the vast majority of jumbo sized 260 pound heffers and inept oafs slobbering around. Bumping together like malfunctioning robots.

    And Ishida is who exactly?
What about Jacobs Brook and Canelo all stating they were dissapointed with GGGs power?
No pega is what Canelo said to his corner.

Malignaggi, pacquiao and Mayorga called cotto the hardest puncher they ever fought, yet just like with golovkin it doesnt matter how the punch feels if it doesnt actually put you to sleep.
Golovkin can hit, Cotto can hit.
But in terms of actual concussive KOs they are no where near other guys who had the speed and timing to go with the weight of the punch which results in concussive, explosive McClellan, kovalev, stevenson, tyson, RJJ, julian jackson type KOs.

What do you mean who is Ishida? Now adding arbitrary qualifiers?

Foreman didn’t have many one punch concussive KO’s either, but is a harder puncher than other Heavyweights who did. So this example doesn’t survive some glaringly obvious peer scrutiny.

Golovkin has the type of power where he doesn’t need to time a one punch KO. He can force the action at any time, including when the opponents are being very defensively minded.

Absolutely! You need to be past 224Lb to get out of cruiserweight now. Prime Ali, Tyson and Larry Holmes would languish at CW today. HW has become the oaf/cyborg division now. It’s broken. Joshua is probably limited by his own experimental physicality rather than actual ring sense and seasoning. HW championship boxing is turning more into a high performance power event like sprinting. The coach sets the athletes off and the expend what they have. Explosive bursts of action followed by recouping in a clinch.

I support a name change rather than a new division. The word cruiser gets exchanged for heavy. And heavyweight becomes Superheavyweight as it is in the Olympics. This would mean the prestige action would remain at what was heavyweight and is now cruiser. Interest in malfunctioning robots bumping into each other would be restricted to the SHW clientele.

I’m sorry but you have not produced anything to encourage me to think otherwise. I’ve been watching boxing longer than you have and I think it’s time we differentiate between HW and SHW (as it is in Amatuer boxing) before the art of boxing vanishes from what is regarded the biggest weight class. Cruisers are the traditional HW now. Not what is called a HW now. Especially with 24 hour weigh ins.

    How about this.

    Tony Bellew, last fight, 213lbs.
    Alexander Povetkin, last fight 223lbs.
    Deontay Wilder, last fight, 220lbs.

This, alone, makes a total mockery of your claim that you have to be "You need to be past 224Lb to get out of cruiserweight now".

As for your claim that Tyson, Ali and Holmes would be "languishing at CW now", that's so embarrassing i'm not going to touch it. I'll just let people read it. You did the work for me there.

    so desperate

This is encouraging news. Do you welcome this trend? However, apart from Wilder the recent contestants for titles have mostly been jumbo sized guys haven’t they? Ruiz Jnr, brezeale etc.

Since 2016 these guys have contested for major heavyweight titles. By my reckoning Larry Holmes's 6'5", 255lb WBC #2 challenger Leroy Jones was in as good, or better, shape than five of eight world title challengers in the last 12 months.

    6'5" Gerald Washington 239

    6'3" Chris Arreola 246

    6'3" Arthur Szpilka 233

    6'5" Lucas Browne 250

    6'2" Andy Ruiz jr 255

    6'5" Charles Martin 245

    6'4" Eric Molina 237

    6'7" Dominic Breazeale 255

As said, 6'5" Leroy Jones was 255, he's actually lighter and smaller than Dominic Breazeale. He is certainly less fat than the three inch shorter Andy Ruiz jnr! And jones no different in shape really to Lucas Browne, chris Arreola. Ten pound lighter Charles Martin only looks a meal or two different in shape at exactly the same height as Jones.

What we have now is mostly a Leroy Jones division! Imagine that!

I’m so desperate? I think it was you who responded to me. I’m in no rush for anyone to think like me. Just voicing an opinion chum.

The list of ATG 240 pound guys is very very short.

Who are they? Lennox Lewis won just 16 of 44 fights weighing 240lb or over. He drew at that size to a guy giving away 30lb for one of them. And he’s the best one!

The second best 240 pounder is Bowe. Riddick was only 240lb or above for 10 of his 40 fights. Only Seven of those fights were wins in the true sense of the word.

Who do we have after that Wlad? He was knocked out twice to guys giving away almost 20lb.

If we limit 240lb ATG’s to guys who never weighed less than 240lb we are left with just Primo Carnera as the GOAT.

SHW is mostly a training trend.

There is no trend. Unless you mean heavyweights' getting bigger.

    Yes, heavyweights have gotten bigger.

It's just, what you're saying about them isn't true.

    Gassiev!!

    Usyks 30.
I think he can make a good run, but too late of a start to make waves.

    Gassiev is only 23.
He seems to have fared pretty well sparring with Wilder and other SHWs.

It is true. These guys, much of them are following a trend to carry more weight, it’s clear. Leroy Jones was around in 1978 but the ball did not get rolling then. But it’s been rolling ever since fine athletes and great boxers like Bowe and Lewis built on their size. Fighters follow the example of the top guys. But Bowe and Lewis were top guys without being 240lb.

What isn’t true? Those stats and weights are all well documented.

I already told you what isn't true.

It isn't true that Muhammad Ali would "be languishing in cruiserweight".

It isn't true that "You need to be past 224Lb to get out of cruiserweight now."

I pointed out these thing to you on the last page.

Of course there are qualifiers. Otherwise you could call Enzo macciranelli the second coming of jack dempsey because of what he did to roy jones.

Harder puncher doesnt mean better puncher. There are dozens of guys in the NFL who could hit very very hard even without knowing proper punching technique.
