    Jim Jeffries ref’d a few fights.

    Charkey Ramon was a popular Australian boxer who picked up a few local titles.

    He went on to ref but knew when to switch hats and revert back to true type as and when required, lol: -

    He’s based in Australia these days and has over 170 bouts to his name mostly in domestic fights.

    Seems highly competent.

    I believe I read that John L. Sullivan was the referee in two of George Godfrey the First's fights.
