I had totally forgotten that too. I looked at Toneys record and saw he got up to 90s pounds heavier from his lowest weight - 160 to 250.
Some opponents drain others and bait them with financial incentive. That should not be credited. if you fight a drained opponent you’re not fighting the best version of the fighter
I don't think that's a fair statement neither. For example, Josh Taylor clearly drained at 140, but he had every single belt, so what are his opponents supposed to do? Just not challenge the champion because he's draining himself to make 140?
This crazy argument again. Where is the accountability? They signed to fight at the weight. They have time to make the weight. It isnt like this snuck up on them. So yea, no ****ing excuse.
James Toney was apparently weight drained when he fought and lost to Roy Jones Jr. I personally dont think the results would have been different if he was more fresh.
