    Middleweight............Dwight Davidson

He could have been great, if someone lit a fire under his butt...

Joe Bugner............He's too easy to pick on.

Micheal Moorer as a heavyweight at least.

James Toney later in his career.

Who was that standout amateur Mexican-American featherweight (I think) who went on to fight Barrera twice, once to a draw in the twilight of Barrera's career? Can't think of his name, but god, he used to frustrate the hell out of me. He had one speed only, and never showed an ounce of urgency about anything.

True in some regards but not on the whole. He was a really hot and cold guy and like alot of heavyweights in history when he reached the top, got rich went to hollywood he loafed and got lazy then started to lose passion for the sport. He was lazy in the Braddock bout, quit in the Louis bout but then gave two brave performances in the Nova bouts.

Also after killing 2 men, Frankie Campbell and another man in sparring (apparently) he lost the killer edge he had when he was younger and hungrier.

Jess Willard (like a few others mentioned in the thread, a ring tragedy was a contributing factor)
