Bert Cooper fought well against Evander Holyfield, which helped him get a reasonably big fight on PPV against Michael Moorer a few months later.

If you haven't seen Moorer-Cooper, then you're missing out on a classic heavyweight brawl.

i was serious about thompson. i really think that if he chooses to hang around and keep fighting he can get some medium-high profile fights again. and since he has decent popularity in germany, he might even get a shot at a belt against one of the eastern euros who are based in germany.

no i thought that, considering his opposition he did well, at least until the 9th, and that he could get some decent paydays out of the deal. thompson certainly got my respect after that fight. he didn't seem scared and he was willing to trade with wlad. im not saying hes the next ali, nor am i saying that i think it would have been a close decision if it went the distance, but i think he should get some respect for how he handled himself, and with a bit of business savvy, and some luck, he could parlay it into some decent paydays.

Paulie vs Cotto (although Paulie is starting to lose the respect he gained)
