Finally saw Marquez/Pacquiao II

I had Marquez winning it by a couple of points, although I did give him that first round, which I thought he edged.

No robbery though.

Great opening post by the way; broke the fight down really well:good

MR. technically skilled holding on to dear life! Good thing he was hit beside the ropes. Imagine if he was hit in middle of the ring?! :rofl :rofl

Anyway, it was a good match and it deserves match #3!

The ropes keeping a fighter up is the discression of the referee if he wants a fighter to take a count and many fighters lie on the ropes and take punches, so you could say the ropes are keeping them up. Its not as blatant a call as a knockdown, when a count being administered is a must.

Very tough fight to score. I thought Marquez won it though. I am kind of upset that he lost because that fight deserved to be a draw of some sort...Marquez is too old to have to get in any sort of line for another shot.

Truth is, Marquez is an unbelievably talented boxer-puncher. He brings a sort of elegance to the Mexican style that Barrera and Morales really didn't have. They were both master boxers, but Marquez is something special, so is his brother.

Pac is a fantastic physical specimen but his fighting style leaves something to be desired, at times. All in all, a great fight and I'd love to see a third one.

He showed some good footwork in there as well. Great job by the old man. His downfall, was his inability to avoid Pac's left hands. Otherwise, he was totatlly outclassing Pac. He was keeping Pac at range, he was able to back Pac up at times, and he was also able to effectively counter Pac when Pac decided to let his hands go.

Pac amazed me by being able to win this fight desite the fact that he was at a stylistic disadvantage, and despite the fact that he was relatively ineffective with the right hand, and kept relying on the same combo over and over again. No way Pac should ever beat a guy like Marquez. However, he was somehow able to pull it off. His defense looks improved, and he doesn't get as far out of position as he used to.

6. Overall, this was a great fight. Both guys showed alot of heart and determination. I hope there is a third fight within the next year or so.

same score as mine although i gave pac the first round as the other 3 judges did. He clearly won that round
