    I agree, I can't see Kessler making 160.

Kessler will do well still, the Calzaghe loss won't affect him, the guy was very honest that Calzaghe was just too much that night.

With a bit of more experience Kessler will do well, I'd like to see him take on the Pavliks and Taylors next, more than bums like John Duddy, and Gary Lockett.

how do you even know it won't affect him mate,he had a boxing lesson handed to him,we just have to wait and see,his talent is undoubted but his mentality is not,and for calling fighters like duddy and lockett bums how about you learn alittle respect mate, yea they may not be the best in the world but do they pretend to be,these are fighters with over 100 fights at amateur and very very respectable records at pro,for them to do what they have done takes balls, much more than you will ever have.

does that mean that his hand was damaged going into calzaghe fight?

I wouldn't go as far to say he was given a boxing lesson like Lacy was but he was soundly beaten. If I'm completely honest I don't see the great fighter a lot of others seem to see in Kessler & I think a lot of the people touting him as such are Calzaghe fans hoping he'll put a retrospective, stellar mark on his resume.

To be honest I don't see the Calzaghe loss affecting him too much. His style is solid not flashy & I think a few good wins will see him return to what he was unlike Lacy who had a style built around his confidence that is now shot to pieces.

As for Lockett, yeah I agree he doesn't think he's the best in the world but the WBO certainly seem to, showing themselves once again to be a Warren title.

Remind me when I go to New York next and I'll try to whoop Duddy's ass.

i definatly agree with you dan,the WBO is a joke but honestly, how many of us look to the alphabets to see who the best fighters are, warren is a virus on boxing, can't wait til he moves along or takes a sidelined interest, however, the reality is that he is only getting more and more powerful.

Yep - but he said it didn't affect him during the fight.

As for making 160 - seems a bit unlikely - but halfway (164) to fight Taylor/Pavlik/Wright or the likes should be no problem.

Kessler made 168 without any drain what so ever, so with a little fluitdrain he should make 164 with relative ease.

  11. Kessler vs Pavlik would be monolithic but weird how so many want this fight considering they also give Pavlik evens vs Joe and Joe made Kessler - the 2nd best in the division - look positively normal!

And I can't help but feel this is Kessler being cautious rather than genuinely caring about his hand, he's making excuses and that's his downfall. we know his hand's bad but not that bad. He's losing the momentum he gained through dominating all then fighting Joe...still it's his barbecue and if he wants it turning sour that's his call.

    Kessler v Bute
    Kessler v Pavlik
    Kessler v Miranda
    Kessler v RJJ
All could be great, or at least entertaining, fights. Not the hugfest that Hopkins v Calzaghe is destined to be.

No it doesnt, Kessler is on a different league, the fight is a foregone conclusion and would do nothing for Kessler apart from confirm what we all know already. Kessler vs Dawson, Pavlik or JT should be the only fights to be made.

Lacy & Miranda wud both be too easy.
Taylor wud be good as wud Bute, Froch or Dawson
