Really don’t get the Fowler will be ‘too good’ and ‘outclasses him’. To me the question for this fight isn’t how good is Fowler, it’s how good Fitzgerald can be. Fowler simply won’t make it at any world class level. He is too slow, too hittable and techniquely poor. He will get beat as he steps up in class, the only puzzle to me is whether Fitzgerald is the man to do it. Fitzgerald’s behaviour has been truly bizarre on social media, especially considering he appears an ok bloke in every interview I have seen. He’s obviously has some issues with drink and drugs. However, looks in great shape for this one and I believe he has he ability to beat Fowler. Interesting fight. We need to see more of this type of thing. Personally this is where I feel we are missing a Ringside style programme. A lot of so called casuals won’t really get this fight until it is Saturday at 10pm.
You’ll see a big difference in quality on Saturday. Fowler’s body work is excellent, I don’t think Fitzgerald will have much left by the mid rounds. You obviously don’t rate him and that’s fair enough it’s all opinions, however, I think the fact that he gets up people’s noses so much detracts from the quality he has.
I actually quite like Fowler to be fair, obviously works incredibly hard as his conditioning is always first class and has the sort of style I like to watch that should lead to some nip and tuck wars as he steps up in class. Kind of reminds me of Froch a little bit, using his physicality as much as his boxing skills to bully and overwhelm his opponent. A bit cocky and full of himself for sure but, they're traits that will serve you well in the boxing game. Think he is a level above Fitzgerald and should have him out of there by the half way mark, although I can see Fitzy having his moments early doors, just think that Fowler edges him in all departments, in particular conditioning and physicality. Should be good while it lasts. It was good to see 4 decent Super Welters all on stage that have still got a lot to offer , or are just stepping out on the big stage. UK boxing still in rude health despite all the recent nagativity
Fowler isn’t as good as he thinks he is (who is?) but I feel he’s too strong and relentless for Fitzgerald and after taking a few digs in the early rounds will wear him down and stop him. Whether it’s intentional or not the image that Fowler has created on social media is going to make him a lot of money and is the main reason this fight is being talked about more than the main event
Eddie ain't throwing Fowler under any buses just yet. He'll get the win tomo night in a fight that I can't see going more than 9rds. I would love to see fitz turn him over and there is a lot of talk of fitz been up for this but can't see it.
I really think Eddie should do the smart thing here, change the order and put this fight on last. The main event is likely to be a comfortable win for Smith. There's not much interest in that one. Stick this on as the main event, the crowd and both fighters will feed off it.
It's an interesting one because I feel that both this fight and the Price vs Ali fight have more interest than the main event.
Main event is a complete waste of time. Eggington is a punchbag and it'll just be about how long the ref is prepared to let it go. If Smith wants the rounds and wants it to go 12 then it will.
No home but Fitzgerald looked great on the scales. P4P way sexier than Fowler, and probably one of the top Prospects in terms of handsomeness we have in this country @Serge @CutThroatFade
Lol he's rugged, looks a bit like Carl Frampton but with a rawer, more unhinged mean streak (no homo). And to top it off he speaks like Tyson Fury.
He was gracious enough to flash plenty of buttock for fans of the male of the species too Huge weapon on the lad too. Not sure about the tatts though This content is protected
