Talking of wankers... I shudder to think the type of character reference I'd get from old Clown Shoes.
2. Dave Sands. If that Aussie was still alive.. blah blah blah.. Sands must be considered as close to GREAT as Les Darcy was. Both dominated the M/W division with particular ease whilst getting as close to the current World Champ as the managerial efforts allowed them at the respective time. Unlike Darcy, Sands travelled O/S legally with intentions of proving his mastery over any unsuspecting clown willing to fight him. His demolision of Dick Turpin and Robert Villemain literally wiped the smile of Jake LaMotta and SRR's faces. Sands made it clear he'd tackle both men when available, yet the availability never arose. Randy Turpin interferred with the likelyhood of meeting SRR and jake laMotta wanted nothing at all to do with Sands. With negotiations and promises being thrashed around, Sands would meet his premature death the days after a legitimate deal was being brokered. IMO, and the imagination of the Bobo Olsen, Dave Sands was the uncrowned King well before LaMotta had become a statue to SRR's punishment on Valentines day. In the same vein as Les Darcy, Australia had the BEST M/W individual on the planet. Best assett. You name it. Worst assett. Death. Best win. Robert Villemain. Henry Brimm. Bobo Olsen. Best loss. Tommy Yarosz. Yolande Pompey NUMERO UNO.... Lionel Rose Yippee... Yahooooooo... Yii-HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. What should we say?? Giddy-up.. Lionel is the man!!! If busting your spirit to make weight, time and time again for the sake of proving yourself in the ELITEST of the Worlds elite then Lionel did more than most. The victory over Harada made Carruthers win over Toweel seem tame. No disrespects to Toweel and Co. Lionel entered the forbidden city, faced up to Harada with ALL Japanese Officials (Chew on that Khoder) and commenced to outbox, out smart and literally spank the only man to master Eder Jofre.... and he was a humble kid from the bush!!!!!! Lionel Rose is the most amazing rogue to lace on the gloves and fight under the Aussie flag. Every move his young feet made are something for any aspiring, well seasoned or aging former Pro to admire. There's never been enough said about Lionel and his 'couldn't give a **** about trophies' way of being. He's just a legend through and through. The 3 1/2 metre statue will be ready in a couple of months time, but if Lionel had it his way, I'm sure the statue wouldn't be looking down on a single peson. He battled some ferocious *******s in Olivares, Castillo, Bazooka Limon and never made a complaint in defeat. He's a true sportsman in every sense and a very rare speciman at that. Best assett. He's the above 24 legends rolled into ONE. Best win. RESPECT. Best loss. RACISM.

Great work Flamindingo. Well written. Loved every word of it. You keep writing stuff like this you're gunna make a heap of poison penfriends
Great work Flam. Has anyone caught the latest World of Boxing yet? Got mine today and this month's 'dream' bout is the one and only Lionel Rose vs. Vic Darchinyan. Fairly even spread with the slight leaning to Rose from the people interviewed. For me, Lionel beats Vic easy. Lionel was a better boxer than Donaire and Donaire picked Vic off all day. Vic loves the blokes coming at him. A beautiful boxer and mover such as Lionel has no problems taking him.
