but that 1 extra pound can harm you if you already lost all the weight that you so to lose that extra pound takes a lot of sacrifice

God I love these types of posts and the idiotic notions behind them.

    Let's see.

Genaro Hernandez - fought Oscar at 135 before returning to the 130 division, a weight class he had never lost in and came back to the division with 6 straight wins against very legitimate contenders like Azumah Nelson.

Arturo Gatti - fought Oscar at 147 before returning to the 140lb division, coming off five straight victories and holding the WBC at the weight when Floyd faced him, again facing credible challengers in Ward and Leija.

Victor Ortiz - fought Maidana at 140 and for a guy who entered in against Floyd at 164, you have to say he was likely weight drained with Maidana, came back and had 6 fights without a defeat including wins against Nate Campbell and Viv Harris before beating Andre Berto, a solid WW and someone that people had been putting as a potential fight for Floyd.

Hatton - undefeated prior to facing Floyd
Mosley - beat Margarito prior to facing Floyd
Marquez - beat Pacquaio on many cards, Diaz and Casamayor before fighting Floyd

So, every single fighter came up against Floyd on a winning streak or had their best win in years in their previous fight.

Yet.. Pacquaio, a mixture of catchweights and recently beaten opponents. Guys who had a loss in their last couple of fights and in some cases (Cotto, Margarito, Mosley, Hatton, now Marquez) were coming off their most embarrassing and humiliating losses.

That's the definition of left over - not guys who lose, come back and win five or six straight, gain titles and then face someone.

Genaro Hernandez (RIP) defeated Nelson to become lineal, WBC, and Ring Magazine #1 before facing Mayweather who was entering his 17th pro fight. There aren't many fighters who would be at that level by there 17th pro fight let alone dominate the way Mayweather did. Which was one of the most impressive boxing displays. Hernandez tried to find an answer for Mayweather from boxing him on the outside, setting traps, applying pressure and Mayweather had an answer for everything he tried until the corner threw in the towel. 20-21 yrs old with a complete boxing game.

floyd speaks in contradictions, most of the **** he says, does not make sense. Floyd himself is a contradiction he's a boxing genius with the mentality of a 12 year old.

I always assumed leftovers refered to guys who went to complete **** after Mayweather fought them, like Ricky Hatton, Shot Mosley, and Zombie De La Hoya.

You excuse Gatti, Ortiz, Hernandez losses claiming they were fighting at a different weight, yet claim Hatton was ruined by Floyd, even though he was undefeated at 140 before facing Pac, coming off probably his second greatest performance after Tszyu. Biased much?

Marquez won't be much of a win for Pac, but it's a nothing win for Floyd as he cheated Marquez on the scales. Marquez trained for 144, Floyd trained for 147. That fight is null and void, embarrassing only for Floyd.

Cotto, Margarito, Clottey were proven top fighters, for years and years, proving themselves against other top fighters... unlike most of the guys Floyd challenged for titles (Gatti, Ortiz, Baldomir). Close fights and losses to other top fighters will never make those guys worse than those hyped B level guys Floyd picked.

who is talking about lightweight limit we are talking about welterweight. and to be realistic he walks around the ww so making a lightweight limit shouldn't be a problem remember according to ariza he has to eat 7000 calories to compete at ww
