Agreed. Its a 55-45 fight for me. I think Mayweather is still to technically sound for any version of PAcquiao. But this version is a juggernaut who will give Floyd problems because he's such a tough little ****er.
that's the problem. mayweather just doesn't make mistakes. so it's not gonna be a fighter who can capitalize on mistakes but one who can force them...or force someone to fight his fight
Pac still makes mistakes. Punching with his head down, he eats jabs like a fat kid eats candy, but his offensive arsenal and toughness masks alot of it. Im interested if Floyd can open him up like Marquez did.
i think he can do it with feinting, same as marquez. i was amazed at how well mayweather was fainting against juan manuel and if he can do that against pac, he'll throw him off balance and create plenty of openings
floyds chin is also the other "question". i worry for pac because, even though he's the pound for pound hardest puncher mayweather has faced, he took shots from n'dou (i know, i know but brother could bang) without flinching and corrales (rip) obviously didn't even faze him (with the few shots he landed)
Forrest would have been that style...he was big, strong, aggressive and could box. Out of the 3...Quartey just seemed to know how to lose a fight...and Winky wouldn't be active enough in my opinion. That would be prolly the most boring fight between future HOF ever.
Floyd is a complete fighter. The only fighter that could theoretically give him problems would be himself. After a 12 round boxing masterclass, the outcome would be a draw...
You need a guy that can take a few punches on the way in to establish his own flurries once he's inside and remain there as long as he can. So...a good jab is an added bonus to help you get inside and avoid at least one counter punch coming in, a little like Tyson use to do in his prime. Once inside, you need to have quick and accurate hands. It don't really matter if you hit Mayweather's head or his shoulders, etc....as long as you consistently connect and remain in the pocket to make him fight every second of every minute. Now..if Pacquiao can somehow sustain enough punishment to consistently put himself in a position to fight inside, then he surely may have a good chance of shocking the world. I don't see Quartey or Forrest remain successful just with their jabs for 12 full rounds... I don't think both are fast enough inside to affect Mayweather and if they only stay on the outside, PBF will eventually adapt to that jab and counter them effectively. If only Pacquiao had a bigger reach to initially keep Mayweather back a little with his jab before coming inside, then I'd be very comfortable that he would overcome Mayweather's tremendous skills... Manny's size (reach) against such an outstanding man, may just be his downfall, cause he has everything else necessary to beat FMJ..

No respectable Floyd fan would say anything like that in reference to good fighters. NOw mediocre hype jobs like Cotto and Margarito maybe.
Floyd does make mistakes. He stops using his jab, awesome jab that it is, for no good reason. He sits on his punches even if the opponent is not moving in. One or two punches at a time against Pac might be disastrous. He keeps his left hand dangerously low when he's feeling confident (much of the time).
this is all true. he's certainly not perfect. you raise a point that he makes mistakes but he tends to be so technically brilliant that few can take advantage
