Floyd has no acceptable option except a past-prime Mosley...

This is the problem with you people.

The fight is not a done deal.
Get ****ing real, I'll believe it when I see it. Untill then, Floyd has done nothing in the past to warrant such comments. Shane is not on his agenda.:deal

How do you know this? Reports are that it will be formally announced on Friday. What will you say then?

Sounds like you don't want the fight to happen.

  4. Yep. We said that this bull**** would start happening two years ago when he fought hatton.....there will always be an excuse.

I will tip my hat to the fighters involved.

And I would sit back and enjoy the build up to the fight.

I really do believe Floyd is going to fill a March-May date with a lesser fighter in order to re-build the Pacquiao fight.

Pacquiao was the reason he came back, and it would surprise me if Mosley ever was on his agenda.

Floyd has options, the same ones he's had for years. Rolling around with obese wrestling performers in very childish exibitions is one. Fighting smaller, overmatched, hand picked boxers is the other.
Why engage in a real challenge when you can get paid for a saunter in the park?
Floyd won't fight Paq, Mosely, Williams, Cotto, Berto or anyone in danger of giving Floyd a tussle.

Honestly, I shouldn't even waste my time responding to this useless post but will anyway because I'm bored and you obviously need educating.

He took the same money that was on the table for Margarito and fought Baldomir who was the champion at that time. There was also bad blood between Mayweather and Arum (Margo's promoter) as there is now so can you really blame him for taking the Baldomir fight? Plus, Margarito is a cheater so using him in your argument doesn't hold any validity.

Avoid the DLH rematch? Yea, I'm sure Floyd was soooo scared of DLH after their first fight.

He's now going to beat up Mosley and Pacquiao this year. Hopefully that silences you goofs.

While I disagree about SSM being way past his prime, you're right it is the best fight out there and it's amazing how people are being critical of this, like Floyd is purposely picking his spot here.

A week ago, Matthew Hatton and Paulie Malignaggi were being tossed around, although I doubt they were seriously being considered.

If Pacquiao was signed to fight Sugar Shane, he would be waking up in the middle of the night with cold sweats. :deal

Roach said before the Cotto fight that any future fight with Mosley would have to be at a catchweight of 142 or 143 as he's giving too much away.

No way would he fight a 147 Mosley.

There's a simple conclusion to this boring nonsense:

    YES or NO

Is Shane Mosley as good right now as he was when he became the first man to convincingly defeat Oscar De La Hoya in 2000?

The answer, very obviously, is NO, of course he isn't.

HOWEVER, that does not mean that:

A - this isn't a great fight (because it IS)
B - Mosley isn't still a top fighter (because he clearly IS)
C - that Floyd won't deserve great credit for a victory (because he WILL)

It's silly to pretend that a 38 or 39 year old Shane who struggled with a shot Ricardo Mayorga and lost to Miguel Cotto is as good as the undefeated lightweight king who moved up and outfought Oscar, it's borderline ******ed actually. But Mosley proved vs Margo that he is unquestionably still one of the very best welterweights in the world.

We can all agree it is a great fight. Far better than Mosley vs Berto and Mayweather vs Nate Campbell.

don't come up with this past primes bull****, mosley had argubaly his greatest ever performance in his fight against margarito. i think it was better than the performance in the first delahoya fight because he never made 1 mistake and controlled the fight from start to finish.

mosley is as good as he was when he first fought delahoya, and now he has the big fight experience to help him more, and make him an even better fighter.

i've never seen mosley as good as he was against margarito, and now that he is with nazim ricahdson he follows a game plan. wheras when he was with his dad it was all about out fighting the other opponent. the new mosley is tactically better than the old one, in fights against vernon forrest and winky wright he couldn't work them out so he never knew what else he could do, now he knows if a problem arises then he knows how to counter it.
