He has the Morales type of POWER.Not a KO artist. He punches hard enough to be respected when he

    jolt your head back.

This is my point of the thread.

Floyd doesnt throw long wide punches and hope for the best.

To throw his balanced punches and still get the KO's and against the level of competition shows his power.

On another note a true power punches was Tszyu , a balanced fighter that could take a fighter out cold , whilst remaining balanced.

Winging long range punches against losing opposition doesnt make you a banger or powerful .

Mayweather has the sharp accuracy to force an accumulative stoppage, yes. However, I think the more intriguing aspect of this fight to me, is how his own chin will hold up if caught. He was in terrible trouble after taking single shots against Mosely, and Shane has rarely had ANY of his opponents in trouble in the early stages of the fight in recent years. That he achieved that against Mayweather is interesting and suggests that either the latter's defence has become pourous as he's aged or his chin is a potential vulnerability.

As a result, I find this an interesting fight. Considering his self-imposed exile from the sport, Mayweather probably could have cashed in with an easier fight, on paper at least. I think that he remains the clear favourite to emerge with the 'W' yet it wouldn't exactly be Tyson - Douglas if Ortiz sent him careening to the canvas and a first career defeat. He is entitled to some credit for not taking on a complete no-hoper.

Of course, should an upset transpire, Mayweather's only option would be to beg Pacquiao or Sergio Martinez for a 30% cut and a fight to salvage his reputation as one of the true greats of his era, and not simply an attention seeking charlatan.

    Interesting fight!

When the TS put the word "WAYYYYY HARDER" it only means extreme fanaticism. Could've just said HARDER and maybe their won't be much argument... If you think maidana doesn't hit harder than Floyd go asked Ortiz

Why, when Ortiz hasn't stepped in to the ring with Mayweather yet...:huh

Even though I agree that Maidana has the more genuine raw power.

Show me where I have put 'WAYYYYY HARDER' in capitols and five Y's ???? I have said ' way harder' because the levels are so different. Maidana wouldnt hurt Oscar, Mosley or Hatton, and to be honest I dont think he hurts any of Floyds last 6 opponents up to Gatti.

Extreme fanaticism - please, its a point I have made , if you dont agree , then thats your opinion and thats ok.

Once Ortiz fights Floyd , and gets stopped , rather than quiting come back to me.

not really. I doubt Maidana would put Shane on his ass with a single punch.

Floyd has not even knocked down a true welterweight in ages.

Here's a simple logic, Floyd punch connect percentage is at least 50%. If he hits "way harder" than Maidana all of his opponents would've been knocked out cold or at least knocked down. He can't even KO a bloated lightweight Marquez for ****'s sake :dead
