Mike can take Jr Sr and unca all at the same time. I wonder if Jr's guard would even dare twitch a finger if he b!tch slapped Floyd in front of them.

There is something between Tyson and Mayweather. I think Tyson is jealous that Floyd financially surpassed him as a black boxer/PPV draw. I'm not sure of the event but recently there was some kind of event with all of the belt holders and Tyson was there. He kind of did a movement like he was going to punch Floyd. It seems weird and out of place. Anyone remember what I'm talking about?

    edit: here it is....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BELfPxJe9E8

    Floyd almost sh*t his pants

Tyson will be remembered long after Floyd has faded into the shadows.

Mike is really respectful of the "Old School"......He was a student of the sweet science and Cus embedded that into Mike's DNA. Floyd doesn't really show a lot of respect to anyone......not even his own father let alone former greats in the sport. So I think Mike is just speaking his mind through emotion when he talks about the topic of Floyd talking about how he's greater than the "GOAT". lol. I don't even thing ALI is the Greatest of ALL TIME when it comes to boxing.....but maybe one of the best HW's of all time. I think Louis has him.

Probably. His style was much more fan friendly. If he fought today I think he would demand more money than Floyd. In a way Tyson paved the way for Floyd more than Ali and the other greats did, since he kind of was at the forefront of the PPV era. Also Floyd learned from Tyson's woman beating past :nut

That being said Mayweather has had a better career and should be ranked above Tyson on the All Time lists

Floyd does show respect to the past and is a student of the game as well. Is Ali Tyson's favorite boxer? That might explain some of the vitriol.

Floyd's not a student like Mike was......Floyd is a student by way of always being in a gym and having a family full of boxers. But Mike studied OLD SCHOOL films of boxers in the golden era and even before his era. Floyd shows little to no respect for anyone and when he does it's usually for a reason that he'll benefit from. Floyd is great and sometimes when you are great, you start believing your own self proclamations.

I fail to see how you could prove that. There are some old videos of Floyd talking about boxers that he watched, many of whom I'd never heard of.

He always acknowledges other great fighters and has always maintained that even though he feels he's the best since fighters are from different eras one can never really know.

I think people confuse obsequiousness with respect. That is not the case.

Never saw that video of Floyd referencing watching old films on fighters......I only ever hear him boast about NEVER watching any boxing film on fighters.

Floyd acknowledges other fighters from different eras but that's not the same as respecting their accomplishments and giving them their deserved respect. it's why a lot of old school fighters do not hold Floyd in very high regard.

No confusion at all.......I see and understand respect as it's not that difficult to identify....I also see disrespect with the same clarity. Floyd is who he is.......I accept that from him. But to give him credit as being "respectful" is a stretch.....a very long country mile kind of stretch.

It always amazes me how all it takes is for one athlete to say he believes he's better than another athlete and people just lose their **** over it.
