Honestly, Mayweather's skill is ATG material. There is no doubt about that but Mayweather (no offense to fans) is not fight challenging himself. He keeps saying that he is the best but he does not fight the best. Pacquiao, Cotto, Mosley, Hoya, and the old greats have tested themselves. They take risks, Mayweather does not. Mayweather's career legacy will be questioned in the future. He is has a lot of doubters now. In the future, boxing fans will say why didn't Mayweather fight Pacquiao, Cotto, or Mosley. Who IMO are the elites and can give Mayweather hell.

Floyd cannot seriously be discussed as anything less than an All-Timer.

Sure Floyd is an all time great. It's just all time great at what. I believe he is an all time great defensive fighter. I don't believe he is an all time great competitor. As far as boxing resume, he's probably top 100.

He's the 2nd or 3rd best fighter of this decade -Pacman and Hopkins are his competition.

He is the ATG at 130 and has been beltholder or champ in 5 divisions, in a period of 12 years.

    Definitely an ATG...Top30 or Top25.

he's an ATG already if he permanently retires today.. but beating the likes of mosley, cotto/pac winner, and paul williams will boost his legacy and put him on the higher ranks..

A balanced post about Floyd. :good

IMO he can be considered an ATG but I can see why others disagree. It IS debatable since he's not fought any of the top welters.

Floyd's skills are just incredible, and I don't think he's a boring fighter. Sure he can be at times, but on his day he looks like magic. Like he says "skills pay the bills" and he's got plenty of skill. This is boxing, the sweet science, not some bar brawl.

However, the reason this idiot pisses me off is he talks about boxing dying if he leaves, how he's the best of all time etc when he hasn't proved it. The only reason there IS a debate about this is because he hasn't fought Margarito, Mosely, Cotto, Williams, Pac yet. Imagine if he were to beat all those names, he would shut everyone up.

    Instead he keeps contradicting himself.

"ey it's like this, it's like this, I fight whoever is put in front of me, I ain't scared of nobody. Whoever Al Heymon and Leonard Ellerbe tell me to fight, I fight, so you can talk to them"

    Then a couple days later

"See, Manny Pacquiao aint even his own boss, Miguel Cotto aint his own boss. He keeps talking bout fighting whoever his promoter Bob Arum wants him to fight. It aint like that with me, I am my own boss"

RA: Floyd when you gonna fight someone your own size?

Floyd: See that's not up to me.

Big time self ownage right there.

As good as he is, his ego is far bigger, and his acomplishments so far don't justify his claims. The Pacman was spot on when he said boxing to him is just a business. Which is fine if your ego is in check, but not when you claim to be THE best of all time.

See, when you've got a guy who started as a flyweight, who keeps moving up through the weights, taking on the toughest challenges while you take on a lightweight for your comeback fight, people are gonna argue about who's the best, regardless of how skilled you are. That 0 means **** all.

"See I came from a small weightclass too, y'all don't talk about that"

Mother****er "it's like this" Pacquiao came from a small weight class but after he's moved up you don't see him taking on Chris John or Vic Darchiniyan or Ivan Calderon. No, he takes on Cotto cuz you didn't want to.

ATG? Yeah Floyd you probably are but start fighting the best and shut that annoying ****in mouth of yours. I wanna like you but you make it so hard for me. If you beat the winner of Cotto/Pac, then beat Mosely, then beat Paul Williams, talk all you want to, talk about being the greatest of all time. I won't have a problem then, and others will stop criticizing you too.
