Can we all be honest and admit no one really gave Shane much of a chance to win in the first place? Did someone switch the opponent after the fight who was actually a young, hungry contender? So why does Mayweather pretending he has proved something dramatic in the pound for pound ranking? Shane is past his prime and really was only "fast" against a few slowing or deteriorating Hispanic fighters. If it was 6 years ago I might at least give Floyd some accolades. The one guy who he could fight to prove he is the best he hides behind some BS blood test.

Yeah people are praising him to death and I didn't see anything special about his performance. It was the same old Floyd in there, and Shane looked shot.

You must have been reading a different forum in the lead up to the fight.

Floyd proved he had guts to stand in there with a banger, he proved he can punch hard, hard enough to hurt Mosley and again he proved he can steal that win. Credit where credit is due, great performance...

Those saying Shane looked old and tired too quick, Floyd can only fight whats put in front of him...and for the most part, Floyd had a lot to do with Shane being gassed out. Against Margo, even if Shane was tired, he can just throw bombs and they will land...kinda like running a marathon, your dead tired but dont think, just keep running. Against Floyd, because of his very sharp counterpunching, he had to stay sharp for 12 rounds, that takes its toll because its not simply like running a marathon, its like running a marathon in an obstacle course, you just wanna run but you still gotta try keep very sharp or you will pay.

Good job not proving anything. I said people shouldn't underestimate shane. Little did I know he'd look completlely shot in the ring. For the first 2 rounds though I was proved right. A younger shane mosley would have knocked floyd out of the ring.

Just to clarify though, I've always picked Floyd by UD. I called it an easy UD when the fight was announced. Good try though.

    Shouldn't that tell you something?

Had Mosley fought Pacquaio, the fight odds would have been 50/50 in my view and you wouldn't have people making bold predictions either way.

He signs to fight Floyd and becomes a massive underdog, in the way Pacquaio would be an underdog by any smart bookie too.

It's not Floyd's fault that he's expected to beat every single fighter available, is it? Can you do much more than facing #3 P4P, #1 in your division?

Said Mayweather UD from day one.

Talking with work mates pre fight I said 118-110 or 117-111, and I wasn't far off, still, I thought Shane had more in him.

If you look at past posts and polls most of those who gave Mosley a good chance winning are the Floyd nuthuggers themselves. Understandably to make a Floyd win more meaningful than it actually is. But look at the numbers.

Majority predicted Mosley only has a small KO chance or Floyd UD, and that he'll gas. They were right. Mosley had his KO chance at round two, and he gassed, Floyd won by UD. No surprises there. The only surprise was how early Shane gassed, which I predicted round six, not three.

I see where you'e coming from. For some reason there were people going crazy with their praise for Mosley. Hes a slugger; outside of a puncher's chance I never really saw how he'd beat Mayweather. People that don't really know boxing gave Mosley a huge chance because of how he looked against Margarito but it doesn't work that way. He looked bad in his fights before that. Its styles and he wouldn't beat Floyd's. He looked worse than I expected though and was tired sooner than I thought. Mayweather to his credit, performed well and was certainly up for the task.

I love how all these new accts are coming on here and creating stupid hate threads about the best fighter in the sport. Floyd is the best fighter in boxing right now. He Whooped Mosley's ass.
