Floyd Mayweather Jr. is My Favorite Fighter because of what he does...IN THE RING!!!

I kinda feel the same way. to put it short he's an immature fool but a great boxer and a pleasure to watch for purists

 

He's probably the fave of most of you kids because of his over the top personality, bad attitude, and bling you lying ****s...

I respect his skills and abilities in the ring to the utmost. One of the greatest talents I have witnessed in the boxing ring.

His flashy money-centric lifestyle is abit shallow but no less so than any other loaded celebrity like say Paris Hilton or anyone else who flaunts the excessive wealth they have. It's irritating but I don't hate the guy for it because he got the money fair and square using his talents.

What pisses me off about Mayweather is his messed up logic concerning his greatness. He says he's better than Ali or Duran or the Sugar Rays because he hasn't lost and is better with the technical aspects of his skills. No Floyd, not losing is NOT what automatically makes you great. If so then the IBHOF would only have the likes of Rocky Marciano, Ricardo Lopez, and Nicolai Valuev had he retired instead of fighting Chagaev(*shudder*). There is so much more to greatness, such as taking on the best of your time and beating them(whether the first time out and in rematches) and shining over your contemporaries to a level that shouts greatness. Fights like Ali doing the unthinkable to Foreman in Zaire and Duran pulling the upset over Leonard in Montreal....then nearly a decade later eaffirming his greatness by taming a young middleweight lion named Iran Barkley.

I consider Floyd a great fighter....but he'll have to do much better than he has done in convincing me he BETTER than those legends I mentioned above.

 

I think some of his fights are not really worth PPV to be honest.But it was a delight to see the Marquez exhibition, what a show of skillz,timing and precision. Defence was spectacular. I enjoyed that fight.But some are boring though the off the ring stuff is better than the actual fight itslelf.

 

You guys really need to check yourselves, the only people he has avoided with the exception of Paul Williams is Arum fighters. Margo and Cotto. He fought ODLH when challenged he fought Judah, he fought Baldimir, and he has challenged Mosley 3 times and has finally gotten the fight. For those who would try to say he avoided Paquiao, I would say his return to boxing was mainly for that fight.

Usually I don't care much about a fighter outside the ring. Some of my favorite fighters did some despicable things in their personal lives. I mainly just like fighters based on their fighting styles, not their personalities (or public personas).

There's some exceptions though. I have to admit, after watching the latest episode of Fight Camp 360, it might be kind of hard to root against Abraham.

 

all Manny does is knockout guys way bigger than him.

 

Damn...Everybody has been talking about that latest episode. I missed it. I am going to try to see it online.

 

Ok if you ever want to meet floyd mayweather and see first hand how his personality is, Go to owens street across from the salvation army in las vegas. There you will find him cooking for the homeless every other friday.....

Maybe it's just me, but I usually like to see more "fight" in my favorite fighters.
