To be honest I don't think there are many on here that class him as a "runner". The reason he takes so much flack on here is more to do with his ego-maniac attitude. The guy in my avatar is also a masterful boxer but he is also a very humble human being who doesn't need people surrounding him telling him how good he is all the time and a manager who clearly wants to suck him through a hosepipe.
wow, i have to say i've really enjoyed reading this thread. very little hating and bull****. the ONLY thing i would argue is that he did some "running" against oscar but it was more movement and evasion than anything. when definining running, i think of leonard vs.duran/hagler. THAT'S running. mayweather is evasive and (even if i don't like the guy) terribly fun to watch. I enjoy watching old fights of his just like I love watching sweet pea
SUperior Boxer, but the problem is that FLoyd has a safety first style, where as consumers just want to see a brawl, and when you watch FLoyd he is not going to give you that, but then again these same people who complain about Floyd not standing and trading, arent the same ones in the ring getting pucnes thrown at them. People who box will appreciate the style more than an average fan, b.c they kno wat it is 2 b in there. If you have the speed, and the ability to land a shot at will and not get hit, why wouldnt you do that. The hate its ridiculous
Not a runner at all!!:nono He a Master/Superior Boxer w/superior Ring intelligence who knows how to win rds, and fights w/little to minimal damage! Anyone who knows boxing and isn't a certified hater knows Floyd can war! Floyd's skills, style and smarts is what makes him #1 in the sport!! If Floyd would to be classified as a runner imagine all the fighters, and ATG's we'd have to throw in that catagory for being safe or cautious in a few necessary fights!!
Superior Boxer, Dont really like him but ur not a true boxing fan if u cant appreciate his skills i enjoy watching Floyd fight he is the epitomie of the sweet science.
Great boxer but as a fan you would like him just to go toe to toe with somebody to see if he has got the heart. I think it may happen with hatton because mayweather believes he could walk over him like he did baldimour in a shut out or gatti so is ego may get in the way.
