"Verdict: Mayweather boxed effectively, however a case for running can be made"

Problem is, is that if anyone does state anything against the consensis of opinion they get severely berated.
So on that basis, I will say superior boxer.

Exactly. See how the atypical morons arent responding to this thread. Floyds been in wars before with the likes of Chavez and Ndou. Against bigger fighters like De La Hoya he decided to use his superior speed and quickness to score the brilliant victory. Hardly running.

The only times that you could say that PBF "ran", i.e. circled and fought in an overly defensive fashion, was against Famaso Hernandez (later rounds, when he had hurt both hands), Goyo Vargas (when he was passive in the later rounds against an outclassed opponent), and Victoriano Sosa (when he spent the entire fight circling away from the hard-charging Sosa's big right hand). You could make the case that he circled too much in the Castillo rematch, but, then again, it certainly nullfied JLC's attack that evening.

I would not say that he ran against Baldomir...even in the later rounds, his movement was more side-to-side and in-and-out. The problem in that fight was his tendency to throw only one punch at a time in the later rounds. He certainly didn't run against DLH, either... again, he just content to throw one or two shots at a time rather than string together combinations.

Still, he's been aggressive in other fights (e.g. Hernandez, Manfredy, Gatti, Judah, etc.) so I don't think we can classify him as a "runner" by any stretch of the imagination. "Superior boxer" it is, then. :good

    Dear BigReg,

Regardless of what is the real point brought on this thread of yours, you people can not spend time and occupy space to make other people as escape goats for your own closed mind's theories. No, I do not consider myself a fool and I have no special business with Mayweather, leat alone hatred.

Now, I am not going all over again to the aforementioned fights cause I have a general idea. Let me just focus on 1 round and 1 fight - Oscar De la Hoya vs Floyd Mayweather - Assassin says that he stood right in the pocket with Hoya, right... 30 seconds into the fight, he presents his side to Hoya, fakes three times with the jab and lands a fast leading left hook that misses, grabs Hoya's head ( pulls down) and counters him with a right when he's outa position, remember anything here? Right, Hatton pulling Collazo's head down and getting the left hook that dropped him within seconds into their first round. In that round, Floyd backs, backs away all the time and Hoya takes a first attack near the ropes with 90 s gone, he clinches of course. From there, each time Hoya jabs, he backs away and doesn't jab back or fire back like Mosley did in the Staples in June 2000, simply "walks around" and comes up with a leading left hook here and there. Second time Hoya got close, he clinches with 37 s left on the clock. The 2nd round is pretty much the same ****, the guy simply doesn't like to fight and prefers to "walk around" to pot shot ya in the most tedious fashion. You like it, good for all of ya but stop tryin to prove stuff like he's a more powerful puncher than Hatton, he's an ATG, he's a Legend, Hatton is C Class and a hugger, he doesn't run, he's just a Superior Boxer... It ain't true and it sucks, yo know, with all due respect to Mayweather and all of you guys... Don't make me look at all those tapes, specially against Bruseles and Mitchell in Portland, I still expect not to spend the stupid late hours I was on my feet to see the Baldo fight again to see the same stupid performance against Hatton?! Thanks.

exactly, These Fraud groupies are acting like its one or two crazy people who think Fraud runs when its obvious he only has 33 fans for good reason.

Hatton says he runs, and come fight night Fraud will prove him right.

If he did "run" in the Baldomir fight it was because he hurt his hand in the later rounds. Not like Baldomir even had a chance, his nose was bleeding and cheeks were swollen by round 5.

If thats the only evidence Floyd haters have of him "running" then jeepers lets just grab one fight out of any fighters career and label him based off one performance.

I'm a fanboy? Even you know that's not true, so I don't need to argue it.

You hate Floyd and cite your reasons... one of them being 50 Cent... so you hate Floyd because you hate his friend? Right.
