No, he didn't. At the time, Shane was being groomed to fight Oscar - a much more proven and intimidating prospect. Second, no one in Mayweather's team made a single genuine offer for the fight to be made. Not Arum, not Haymon, not Ellerbe and certainly not Mayweather himself.

This is just another piece of Mayweather myth-making.

A lot of guys who say Mosley ducked him are probably referring to the interview with Merchant after the Vargas rematch when he mentions having toothache but even before it,he said he wasn't going to be fighting again that year.

    Sure.

Also, Mosley's 135 tenure is grossly overrated. Ever heard of Carlos Ortiz???!?

Even as a massive Mosley fan, I'm left totally underwhelmed by his 135 period.

It's crazy to me that anyone would favor the draw. Insanity.

Who knows. Shanes volume winning some, him taking the first 3 rounds as Floyd tries to make the necessary adjustments, but Floyd's cleaner punching winning some rounds.

Thing is, judges ain't that smart. I expect Floyd to (sadly) win a wide UD.

It's how he dealt with them that gets attention. His KO ratio was tremendous.

    Best opponent was arguably Holliday.

Either way, no where near the top 10, let alone NO 2:patsch

Oh, I agree with that. Just saying that's why he's held in high esteem. Rob's contention is as ridiculous as most of his opinions.

Agree on why he's held in high regard as a lightweight
