So what if Duran lost those fights? Apply some CONTEXT you ignoramus. Roberto Duran was in his prime at LW. He was 5’7, with a tiny 66” reach. Yet he fought PRIME versions of Thomas Hearns and Marvin Hagler. Two of the sport’s greatest ever fighters. Above his best weights. Hearns is considered by most as the GOAT at JMW. Hagler is considered by most as a top 3 MW of all time. Hearns was 6’1, with a huge 78” reach. Hagler was 5’9, with a 75” reach. So yeah, he lost. Compare that to your hero, who wouldn’t fight Manny or Winky, as well as deliberately cheating little Márquez on the scales. You laugh at Duran losing whilst getting aroused by Floyd’s undefeated record. Yet Floyd would never even have dreamt of taking on those kinds of challenges.
Canelo may well become an ATG. Floyd only gets the credit for beating a 2013 version of him though. Now explain to us why you don’t, or can’t, ever apply context. Like I said s few months ago, your time here is completely wasted. Because you never learn anything new. You never expand your knowledge. You’re as ignorant now, as what you were years ago. You’re one of the most ignorant guys on the forum. For example: Thinking that Floyd would definitely have beaten Greb, because Floyd beat a guy in Canelo, who was the same size. I didn’t think like that as a boxing fan, even when I was 12 years old. Nobody cares about Floyd’s shiny stats like you do. Because an intelligent man will always apply context and allow for circumstances. You say that Floyd doesn’t require excuses for losses. Yet you’ll happily list as many excuses possible, for the guys that he ducked, and for all of the BS that he pulled all throughout his career.
Do you have a problem with reading comprehension? I specifically stated we can't read anything into Canelo's exclusion on a list that is 10 years old. I then stated ODLH was ranked 74 and is clearly greater than Canelo, to support my position that Canelo likely needs to do more to break into the top 100 by the time his career has finished. It really shouldn't have been necessary for me to have to spell that out for you.
Like a toddler having a tantrum. Three division unified, four division champion is good enough for me.
paper champ. he did not beat anybody though. Floyd and Bivol schooled him. Lost twice against GGG. Very good fighter but not an ATG
My take: If Hearns fought at 147 during Floyd's career, we'd all be debating Floyd's all-time standing at 135 or 140.
