Well he's more defensive minded now than he was, as I'm sure you know having watched all his fights. I mean if you look at the way he was ripping Roberto Acopoda with brutal body shots and combo's in his pro debut alone, and throughout his 130 days. His combination punching I think has gone because of his hand problems. He's not getting any younger and he said in Hatton 24/7 he feels as though his body is breaking down, and he has treatment on his hands constantly as shown as they are becoming more and more brittle. Who can match his specific attributes? Yeah I think it was the southpaw stance more than anything combined with the speed, as the shoulder roll was useless with the punches coming from the other side. He struggled the first 4 rounds and was getting caught with those lefts as you say. But he changed his defensive style, adapted and came through comfortably in the end. I can't remember how I scored Castillo I, I'll have to watch it again sometime and re-score it. It was definately close but I guess if Floyd did have a damaged rotatory cuff then he didn't do too badly and fought hard the whole 12 rounds against a tough big hitting pressure fighter. Which is more than can be said of Vitali Klitschko quitting on his stool with 2 rounds left against a feather-fisted defensive minded opponent while well ahead with the same injury. At the end of the day, Castillo was a far, far better fighter than Margarito has, is or ever will be. And Floyd beat him, officially twice. I believe it's the same case with Calzaghe not fighting Pavlik. He knew somebody would do the job in the end and Mosley did. Just like Hopkins beat Pavlik in similarly dominating fashion. Well the problem is the split. Both fighter's feel they are worth a 60% cut and both arguably could justify that. The problem there is obviously 60-60 doesn't match-up. I'd also like to see it happen, it appears that Manny and Roach aren't willing to try and negotiate and instead are willing to take another fight and try and show Floyd they don't need him. But honestly I don't see what fights there are for him, Mosley and Cotto are both willing to drop to 145 but Pac and Roach want them at 140-142 which they couldn't possibly make without being severely weight drained like Oscar was. So who else is there? Guys like Bradley or Valero at 140 aren't big enough, and if JMM loses to Floyd that rules him out aswell. Both Mosley and Williams have fantastic chances of course and I wouldn't rule out either fight going either way. I think Floyd is just as capable of beating them as they are him at this stage, obviously we don't know how much of the old Floyd is going to return with the comeback. I think it's unfair to say Manny has literally no chance either, he's a great, great fighter and you can rarely right a guy like that off. Floyd would be a favourite deservedly so, but anything can happen in the sport of boxing.
Williams is the only guy I chose as a favorite to win. He has too much size and stamina to be boxed effectively. Shane, I always thought and know Floyd has Shane's #. Shane is not that big of a one punch threat and he would not land often on Floyd and his defense is no where to be found. Pacman would be a tough fight b/c we have seen what Spadafora(southpaw) did to Floyd in sparring all though that was an out of shape Floyd and Spada was peaking and had a fight in a week or two it shows how an active southpaw with good combinations can present problems with Floyd countering. BUT, Floyd has fought 3 southpaws since then and he knows how to fight them effectively. Pacman would have his moments but Pacman IS PREDICTABLE. JMM exploited this. Just some slower non counter punching fighters cant take advantage. Pac has never really faced any counter punchers. Pac also is NO counter puncher like Zab. Zab was able to counter Floyd but when Zab led or opened up he missed everything and got countered himself. Floyd would have an easier time with Pac b/c Pac is not that creative or slick. He is fast and furious.

i woudnt favour williams in a million years 2 main reasons he doesnt fight at 147 no more and he is massive so itll be hard for him to get down to 147 and many people are forgetting he was totally outboxed by quintana williams is a good fighter dont get me wrong but him and floyd are classes apart
Hey man thanks for the props on the thread, nice one and I agree with you on JMM, I can see Mayweather standing in the pocket and fighting. For every 1 punch Marquez lands Floyd will probably land about 3. I would love to see Mayweather vs Pacman at 140lbs because then nobody could use the size as an excuse because I think 140lbs is Pacquiao's optimum weight and he seems to be very comfortable at it. who you got for Berto vs Urango tonight dude?
I don't think anybody doubt Floyd's abilities. What everybody hates is his lack of balls to fight at his weight and totally ******ed comments
I agree Mosley and Paul Williams would be his most difficult opponents. I also think you're right that Pacquiao would bring the best out in him. Williams would be the toughest task of all I think.
