Floyd Mayweather Sr. is right on point here.

I agree in that PBF is probably justified in not talking to his dad. For someone to cut off their father, they dont do it because they just dont like them anymore or because they got money. Looking at Mayweather Sr. and while he is funny and entertaining, in all seriousness, its not very hard to imagine him being an abusive father to PBF back in the day and I am sure PBF has his reasons for cutting him off.

It is a lot more complicated than that. Africa has a lot of problems, number one being the oppressive governments and rulers who are constantly at war one way or another.
It is hard to even get food delivered to them, as oppressive malitias with guns come by and take whatever aid packages foreign governments try to drop off. There is no oil or big resources that can benefit the western world so there is little interest in an occupation to free the people.

I am sure PBF makes donations to charities, however I dont expect him to end world hunger.

    Floyd earns his money.

He can do with it whatever he pleases.

Just because you or I think he "should" do something with it doesn't obligate him to do so. It's his choice. No mandatory redistribution of wealth here.

yes I'm sure Mayweather does donate money to charity, and it's not just his but everybody's responsibility to help those less fortunate than themselves. Mayweather was born into a comfortable (and dysfunctional) home and at the end of the day has had it relatively easy. He lets himself down badly by the money throwing thing and looks a right idiot, but you have to remember he's led a sheltered life.

I agree with you in that its not on Floyd to save the world. I know that he donates to charity. And that the throwing money thing is a stunt to appeal to a certain demographic.

I did want to correct you on one thing though. Africa is rich in mineral resources. Interms of natural resources it is probably the riches continent on earth. It is 100% because africa is rich in mineral resources that it is kept down. And it is not malitias with guns that are messing up africa. It is the major world powers funding the militia's with guns, giving african nations loans that they can never re-pay and extracting economic consessions for aid that are keeping africa down.

If you want to read a good book on the topic I suggest "A continent for the taking" by Howard W. French (the was the former africa correspondent for the new york times).

Nice sentiment, but that really doesnt hide the air of blatent despotism and mutual brow soothing that much of Africa's elite has indulged in for the past 60 years.

    For the record?

I really dont care what PBF does with his money! Its his dad that made issue of it:yep ALL I've said is he could be a more effective PHILANTHROPIST.

Whether he does or stuff's every dollar up his ass? Is no concern to me. I just think that Floyd's GIVING could be more constructive.
