Floyd Mayweather vs. Amir Khan speculation & discussion

Ok, there's a couple misnomers in your post:

1st off Marcos Maidana and Amir Khan have been on completely different trajectories for the past 2 years. Marcos was BY FAR the more deserving of the 2 fighters to get a shot at Mayweather- he had just won a title at WW against a universally recognized (albeit smaller guy) top 10 P4P fighter in Adrien Broner.

What has Khan done exactly in the last 2 years? He got knocked out by Garcia, he went LIFE AND DEATH with Julio Diaz in UK, and he made his debut at WW against Luis Collazo who to put it nicely is at least 7 years past his prime.

What makes him think he can just jump up to WW and immediately be the # 1 contender in the division? It's not like he's coming up from JWW as a lineal champion or something.

Off the top of my head, guys like Danny Garcia, Tim Bradley, Manny Pacquiao, Juan Manuel Marquez, Canelo Alvarez and Miguel Cotto are MUCH more deserving of a fight with Floyd than Amir Khan is.

Instead of lobbying for his "dream fight" for over a year now, he should've thought about being more active, beat some reputable names at WW (i.e. Thurman, Maidana,) and than he can start campaigning for a fight with the top guy in the division. he's such a deluded character it's actually kind of sad.

 

Khan has done nothing in the last 2-3 years to warrant the opportunity.

 

first off Maidana didnt need to avenge his losses cus #1, he didnt get KTFO like khan (Twice) and #2 his losses were close and competative, giving khan major problems in the late riunds and the same for alexander, unlike Khans BLOWOUT KO losses. Thats why Floyd said that. FACT. dont believe me youtube the fights im tlking about.

now for khan giving may problems i beleive that cus the reach, hieght, handspeed is there. BUT HE DOES NOT DESERVE THE FIGHT. He hasnt done anything as of late but pick on smaller boxers that still hurt or KD him. i can see your point if he just fought a top guy like Thurman, Danny, Kell, ect. and WIN EMPRESSIVE not just hit and hold reset. Make a statement like maidana did to get the may fight he HANDLED bronner and got rewarded the big fight it wasnt given to him.

thats not ducking thats facts. how is may/khan gonna sell the fight if you got suck highlights of khan fighting smaller boxers still getting rocked and a boring fight with collazo recently? you cant.

lookat the history how floyd sells his fights. either big name or big win sometimes both.

Ortiz (upset a back then well known Berto)
Cotto (coming off his revenge fight with Margo and a big name)
Maidana (Upset Broner great fight)
Mosley (KOd Margo when he just Destroyed Cotto)
thats just a few. you see where im going with this. Khan gotta standout to get this fight. he got the name and the UK fans Now its time to fight a REAL guy and WIN to empress. OH and BTW all those names that i mentioned ALL HAD BELTS at the time. Get a 147 belt Khan, all the belts are held by TOP LEVEL guys right now. I like Khan and want him to succeed but he has to stop crying like someone owes him something cus they dont and his little fan boys too.

 

Khan won that poll but he didn't even fight him

As if beating a lightweight (Broner) some big deal, Khan would have blown Broner away inside 6 rds.
