As it stands Khan has the attributes to trouble Mayweather; but he wont. Because hes not smart enough to think on his feet beyond a gameplan, if he could stick to it in the first place. Hes predicatable. And prone to someone who can TIME him.

And timing beats speed. Mayweather will flatten him. Hes no knockout artist but will hit khan flush and well.

I'm looking forward to see how Khan develops. I hope his new trainers adds some better defensive techniques and an inside game. Heres hoping.

i see what you are saying and you have a point. There is just one problem. Khan is not unpredictable. He throws his combinations like an Amateur with no head movement and his footwork is horrible. For all of Khans offensive abilities he uses them all wrong. That boy with his speed and rangy height should have an all time great jab that should punish people. When he is out of range he is going to fall in trying to land something fast on Floyd and Floyd is going to time the **** out of him. That combination **** is not going to work. Floyd is too smart for that. He can step out of range which means no combinations, or he can smother Khan which means no combinations.

Case in point. Look at how Manny Pacquiao landed all those combinations on Margo and other guys but couldn't land them on Marquez. Marquez took that away from Manny with just small steps back or to the left. Same thing happens to Khan and he gets stopped in 5 rounds.

I always thought watching KHAN that he would give Floyd.a tough fight beacuse of his speed and confidence.......KHAN is just.as fast a Judah and Floyd fought Judah about 7 years ago. Can Floyd Still handle that kind of speed ?

Neso1 just say Pacquaio cause you keep hinting towards him... Pavquiao has Shitty footwork, stays off balance and don't have a clue how to cut off the ring

id watch it to see khans glass shatter because that never gets old.. but you cant tell me this fight would be competitive in the least... even if khan wore headgear he makes way to many mistakes and gets incredibly wild and over confident for someone who has one of the worst jaws iv seen

Khan would get outclassed and stopped, and then people would be crying and bitching saying Floyd cherry picked a glass jawed joke who'd been KOed twice and was drug up to 147. So please stoping talking about this dumbass fight. Khan doesnt belong in the ring with mayweather.

Mayweather's fastest opponents: Judah, past prime De La Hoya, past prime Mosley, and maybe Ortiz? Might have forgotten some others.

Judah troubled him for four rounds, Hoya was competitive for at least 8, Mosley was completely outboxed, although he did hurt Mayweather quite badly in round 2, and Ortiz was outboxed, although he did land a few decent shots, and the fight ended on a sucker punch after only a few rounds.

I would say that speed is an important tool against Mayweather, but you need to combine it with a solid defence and a good jab to make things interesting. Even though he was faded, Hoya was able to trouble Mayweather because he combined handspeed with effective parrying, a long jab, power and size. If he'd had the stamina to go with all that, I think he would have won. Judah had speed, power and boxing skills, but he didn't have the durability, mentality, defence and stamina to beat Mayweather.

The interesting thing is that the only fighter who you could argue actually beat Mayweather (Castillo) wasn't really a fast fighter. Maybe he just had underrated handspeed, but he mainly had success getting in close and hitting Mayweather with hard bodyshots. Mayweather couldn't deal with him on the inside.

Khan isn't going to trouble Mayweather. He might be competitive for a round or two, if he's lucky, but his defence is too leaky, he's still wide open for the left hook counter while he throws (and Mayweather still has that check hook in his bag of tricks), he can't beat Mayweather on the inside, and he's not skilled enough to outbox him on the outside.

That being said, Mayweather and Khan have sparred once, years ago. I'm assuming that Khan didn't do terribly, as he's been actively seeking a fight with Mayweather for a while.

I do agree that timing beats speed, this is why I think Canelo will be a good fight against Floyd.
