Those lunges aren't arm punches. They have his entire body behind him. Abraham may be slow and basic, but you have to play the matador against this guy.

He's a bull. If you stand in front of him he will mow you down with his power.

I just don't see Floyd having the legs to do this. For all of Abraham's faults, he does throw, quick, short punches, and any one of them can knock you out.

And you're wrong about me favoring big puncher's against Mayweather.

Mayweather would beat guys like Garcia and Maidana, but big guys with SIZE are too much for Mayweather.

I don't see any conceivable way Mayweather would get past GGG for instance. Abraham obviously is on a lower (perceived at this point) scale than GGG, but his power and especially his SIZE is a signficant factor.

He's just too big. Mayweather won't be able to hurt him. The pressure will be too much.

You're right in the sense that I think Mayweather is a ducker, but I'm careful to only pick guys against him that I think can beat him.

Margarito is not a signficant puncher, but I believe the Margarito that beat Cotto would give Floyd the toughest fight of his career if he would have taken him. He might even have a loss on his record if he wasn't on his A game.

He knows how a big of a challenge Margarito presented, and he carefully, and intelligently, avoided him.

I know that I wanted Pacquaio to beat Mayweather, and perhaps I'm picking Pacquaio because I'm a fan boy, but I also see, and I know you see, how Pacquaio could beat Mayweather, and I went with my heart in that match up.

Mayweather avoided him and man....he ruined....a huge event.

    I mean, can't believe that ****.

Again, the picture your painting is Abraham bringing staggering pressure and Floyd standing in front of him. All he needs to do is use small side-steps, ram that jab to the body, throw around the guard, roll and counter up close before quickly tying up, and repeat. Abraham is a slugger who walks forward, he's not an intelligent pressure fighter who can trap fighters. Froch doesn't have a tremendous amount of foot-speed and he didn't need it. And your rant about Margarito is largely inconsequential.

First of all, Froch's boxing ability has been highly underrated on this board.

Secondly, Froch has an incredibly long reach, and is a very big guy that could not only keep Abraham at the end of his jab, due to his power, but avoid Abraham's punches by circling away and using his reach.

What you don't understand is, Abraham will throw punches when Mayweather throws punches. Eventually he is going to catch Mayweather with one of those hooks.

If Mayweather has the same legs he had against Baldomir at 160, it's possible he would win, but without the aid of PEDs which he may be on anyway, it is impossible for him to move like that.

Regardless, Ward, Froch, Taylor, are all big guys that have enough power to keep Abraham honest.

Mayweather doesn't have that type of power. Abraham will not respect him. He will come in with his guard up like Winky Wright and take punches if he has to to get to Mayweather.

Against Ward or Froch or Taylor or Dirrell, he couldn't afford to get reckless.

They all had size and power.

Mayweather doesn't. Abraham does not deliver intelligent pressure, but his high guard, size, and power, are too much for a middlweight Mayweather to overcome.

He would fight Abraham exactly how he fought Baldomir, and at 160, I just don't see it happening.

Unless he's on PEDs of course.

Roach your so full of bias it's just not worth it. And for the record, Floyd still has a reach advantage over Abraham, as well as having superior hand speed and superior mobility to Froch, regardless of how underrated he is.

Inside/outside??? It doesn't matter. Arthur wouldn't hit Floyd in the ass -- all day long.

    Abraham:

    -Height 5′ 9″
    -Reach 72″
    -Fights at 160lbs

    Floyd:

    -Height 5′ 9″
    -Reach 72″
-Currently Fights at 154 (going back down to WW in his next fight though!)

Come on guys we all know Abraham is not a SMW and in all honesty he's not even a big MW, Floyd is more athletic maybe and marginally slighter but in all honesty Abraham is really hardly any bigger than i.e Cotto...

The size difference is Negligible imo. Seriously, if u saw these two walking down the street together they would look pretty similar size wise. It's no were near as ridiculous as Duran v Hearns, Oscar v Hopkins or Martinez v Pavlik who were noticeably smaller! Think Leonard v Hagler....

Mayweather has spent a good deal of his career fighting smaller men, Abraham fighting larger men! Cannot for the life of me understand why people try to make this out as a mismatch size wise...160/154 is not a big deal!

Could Floyd deal with the power of Abraham?

I've said a few times that he isn't and didn't look it IRL, but David Haye clearly is a full 6'3 :think

Floyd with legs could potshot to a easy UD.
Without legs though hes not going to just stand there and roll with punches... even a AA punch on his guard would hurt.

AA also carries his power all 12.
They might have simular reach and height but AA has a much thicker frame.

:-( This is almost as bad as your Wlad vs Hopkins thread

Floyd is a natural superfeather/lightweight, he's been the smaller man in the ring many times. These days he walks around close the welterweight limit & is tiny up at 154.

Abraham is built like a cube & was struggling to make middleweight towards the end of his title reign. He's probably at least 25-30lbs heavier than Floyd.

Ya 10 years ago ffs! No way in hell could he make 130 now! Abrahams fighting men who could easily be LHW'S.

    Come on now...
