As much as I love EA and am ambivalent about Floyd, I feel like this fight has gotten a little overhyped. The Drunken Master was game to the core but even when he was landing, I don't feel like Floyd was ever that far out of control. The stoppage is mildly debatable, but definitely justified.
Augustus generally fought as good as the guy in front of him. He would usually rise to the occasion against a great fighter or fight down to the opposition in a lesser fighter. But beyond the numbers he was a special fighter and unsuspecting talent. Bennie Briscoe and Emmanuel Augustus are the two best fighters to have never won a major world title. Period.
Augustus was never that good IMO. Still love his fights though. Also Mayweather's defines has improved so much since then.
