Floyd Mayweather vs Ray Robinson is it even a contest??

70/30 in favor of Robinson. But thats still good enough if you ask me.

 

Big skilled man beats little skilled man.

 

If they are both the same size... then yea Floyd would probably win. Being the defense wizard and mobility and a great offense. Robinson tend to lean against the opponents sometimes and trade shots but the man is hittable. If Floyd was the same size he could easily pot shot to victory and avoid punishment. Floyd is build to win not entertain.

 

People keeps bringing up Castillo I... but they don't bring up that Floyd injured himself during training and had a torn shoulder muscle coming in against Castillo. And Judah style is the style that can give Floyd trouble being that he is just as fast and stronger. Judah always starts fast and he did not dominated floyd. He edged him to round 4 and loss his ass like he always do.

 

Floyd would get KO'd or lose a lopsided decision.

 

Prime for Prime, In my mind there is no doubt JCC would knock Floyd out.

I've never seen SRR fight though... but if hes as good as people say then he wins by easy KO unless he's on an extremely off night.

 

No one in history would have an easy night with Floyd, especially not by knockout.

 

Please....Mayweather couldn't easily potshot to a win against Sugar Ray Robinson.

 

But in 50 years time I reckon regardless of what he acheves in the future, he will be rated as a top 10 atg. Reputation gets bigger with age in boxing, when us guys say in 50 years time, 'that mayweather was great' and the young uns will check out his highlight reel on youtube and will say oh yeah, one of the GOAT. Just like we have accepted that dempsey, marciano, johnson are some of the GOAT when most of us(not all) dont really know **** about them and only rate them cuz we are expected to.(stressing the not all)

 

How does he beat Robinson if they were naturally the same weight?

 

To clear things up about Hearns-Mayweather though...

Hearns had a glass jaw. Mayweather shatters it.

 

Floyd can adjust and he has shown the ability to in the past, but Robinson isn't Judah. He could adjust as well and keep his composure as the fight went on. He could also match Floyd in terms of speed, he surpasses him in workrate and combinations, and from what we have seen on film, his jab, which has been described as "sharp and stunning," would present a lot of trouble for Floyd as well.

What are your picks for Mayweather-Whitaker @ 135 and Mayweather-Hearns @ 147?

How about Tommy's jab? And ability to keep a distance? This seems like a nightmare match for Floyd. Floyd's shoulder roll, shell like defense wouldn't lure Tommy inside.
