You can't see Stevie Johnston or Jose Luis Castillo beating either of those fighters ?

Stevie Johnston was a highly skilled Southpaw on par with Lomachenko especially at 135, and Jose Luis Castillo has a very underrated reign at Lightweight and came close to beating a prime Mayweather.

I could see them winning. But they'd be good fights. I know Castillo arguably beat Mayweather but I'm not sure he beats Shakur or Lomachenko.

LOL. Mayweather wanted Hattn and Cotto at 140, they passed. Arum said in a post fight interview with Cotto that Cotto needed about 3 more fights before facing Mayweather. Hatton said he wanted 3 fights in the US to gain name recognition so the fight would be huge. I think it's pretty clear the Pac fight not happening sooner isn't all Mayweathers fault. Watch the All Access episode when Freddie Roach was asked about the fight taking so long to materialize. What I find funny is how FM gets critisized for the Oscar, Mosley and Cotto fights, yet these same fighters immortalized Manny. FM fought them before Pac and without a catchweight.

Crawford could give real problems to a young floyd, who struggled with technically gifted southpaws like judah. But an older floyd would handle it anyway.

Loma, though, even being a really gifted southpaw, is too small to give problems to a young floyd who hit like a freaking truck.

Foyd had a long long long long career. There are many floyds actually. Pretty Boy Floyd is not Money Mayweather. Same person, different fighters.

Wrong. Spence has a chance. Crawford is more similar to Floyd (precision puncher who picks his shots) and he’d get schooled trying to outdo the master.

I think all current top-4 LWs would've beaten Spadafora who was nothing special.

JLC was very good, but one-dimensional fighter. He was beatable even at his best.

Stevie Johnston was slick, but small even for LW division.

Like I said, Floyd took an intelligent approach to matchmaking.

He had the power, money and influence to make any fight he wanted to. If he wanted it to happen, it would happen. Mayweather would simply pick and choose and if he got push back he would throw in a couple different "retirements" when he felt like avoiding guys.

Floyd doesn't go through this lineup 1 after the next undefeated.

    130 - Valdez, Garcia
135 - Shakur, Tank, Haney, Loma
    140 - Taylor, Prograis, Ramirez
147 - Spence, Crawford, Ennis, Vergil
    154 - Jermell, Castano

Most ATG fighters that have to go 130-154 take at least 1 loss. I'm not sure anyone goes undefeated.

Its not just who Floyd fought but also when. And the reality is a strong case can be made for draws in JLC 1 and MM1 and JLC1 was arguably 7-5 for JLC. I know thats an unpopular opinion but its also pretty honest

Some fans really glorify retired fighters. Floyd is a top 20 ATG no question but to imply he is some kind of perfect fighter is misguided. Floyd should have had a loss in JLC1 or at least a draw and should have a draw in MM1. Floyd had competitive fights w old DLH (~7-5), nearly stopped by old Mosley, and competitive w old Manny (it was not 10-2 lol). Again, Floyd is an ATG, top 15-20 EVER (and some people have him higher) but he does not go undefeated against that lineup 1 after the next. Not many do, if any.

Oddly enough that’s the fight I would have liked to see, Floyd and Porter. It never ceased to amaze me how many morons would fight him with the intent of outboxing him.

And I don’t remember Porter talking about retirement at any point before the Bud fight, he was kinda forced into it.

Porter doesn't even fight. He just rams and charges you whilst smothering his own work. Kell Brook beat Porter cleanly and Floyd wouldve done a replica of that imo

Yeah, I agree, Porter is a dirty fighter, but that’s what would have made it entertaining, instead of the typical “you parried my jab and now I have no game plan”.

    Kell beating him was beautiful!

Would probably "A"-side unsurmountable advantages over any he wouldn't duck. Thiat said he would clown them all if forced by circumstances to face them. None are as good as Floyd. Not close.
