    ..HEADLINE....MAYWEATHER SHOWS AMAZING SPEED:
Round one of Mayweather against (LaMotta or Robinson or Zivic) is one minute old. Mayweather breaks record for a fighter jumping out of the ring and getting back to his dressing room.

Sugar Ray Robinson had KO power in both hands, was a super
smooth boxer, great jab, with a sturdy chin.

Robinson was about 5' 11", with a good reach.

I say that the only surprise in a Robinson-Mayweather fight
would be if Mayweather managed to survive the distance.

    Robinson wins this one!!!

You forgot to mention the part where PBF pisses his pants just before leaving the ring! It's called speed-pissing!

Mayweather is a top talent, no doubt. BUT he can't beat Robinson or La Motta.

Ray does the decent thing and KO's him in 5 or 6. Jake would grind him down in a very, very painful evening for Floyd. Match Floyd with guys at 135 and I think he'd do well.

I don't understand how Floyd cut Gatti's face open because he was too quick, yet wouldn't be able to do the same to LaMotta who doesn't even defend himself.

Sure LaMotta's got a granite chin, but he used to cut easily.

What is LaMotta going to bring to Floyd that he hasn't faced before? Is LaMotta more powerful than De La Hoya - not really. Can Floyd fight swarmers - he counterpunched to victory against Chavez. But LaMotta's a lot more succeptible to counterpunching because he has no defence and walks on to punches to get one of his own in.

He lost five matches to SRR who was a lot faster than him. LaMotta won the battle of the jabs in the sixth fight, but still got his ass handed to him in the end. Floyd would do exactly the same. LaMotta wouldn't catch him, and PBF would either win on cuts or on a points decision.

I've changed my mind and Robinson would beat Mayweather though.

Lamotta's defense is so underrated. People seem to think he just walked in and took shots because of his incredible chin, this simply isn't true. Even in his one filmed fight with Robinson, where he came very out of shape, you can see his head movement negating most of the power in Robinson's shots early in the fight. You just need to watch more closely to see that Lamotta doesnt just take punishment to get inside.

Doppleganger,la motta is a huge natural middleweight,he was more comfortable at super middle/lt heavy,de la hoya is a lt middle soaking wet (and better at welter.) coming up from 130,and jesus chavez is a 130 man...
Have you heard of weight categories and do you know the reason for them?
You have already made yourself look extremely foolish by saying floyd would own robinson then retracting and changing your mind, next time try thinking before saying who would 'own' whom....
Floyd has very little pop at 147 never mind 160 v la motta, floyd struggled with the pressure of de la hoya and castillo, now add 20 pounds of muscle on those two and more pressure and see how floyd goes....
I expect you to change your mind again in a few days......

Your problem is you don't know anything about LaMotta. He is a highly skilled boxer and a good technician, he doesn't walk into punches and slug crudely as you suggest. He is no Ricardo Mayorga, he's more of a MUCH larger version of Luis Castillo with even more menace.

Until we see Floyd fight a genuine middleweight (He won't because he's not stupid, and has fought almost 3/4 of his career as a super-featherweight) we won't have any idea how he'd fare against an ATG middleweight. There is nothing to suggest he could survive.

Stop comparing LaMotta with Castillo. Castillo was a very good technician, LaMotta was a mediocre technician that you can find tens of fighters as technically skilled as him at every weight division at any point of time.

    Senya,
La motta was at least twenty pounds bigger than castillo, never got stopped by ricky hatton/corrales, and the win against peak robinson is better than ALL of castillos career and someting floyd could only dream of......
ps; those saying that la motta was cuts prone would do well to remember that castillo lost three times due to cuts yet mayweather never so much as seriously scratched the lad in 24 rounds....

Unlike LaMotta, Castillo wasn't picking on guys who's best/natural weight is 10-15 pounds below the weight they fought at. When LaMotta started facing fighters as big as himself, he got knocked out several times.

Castillo picked on may guys smaller than him,i remember him weighing 153 pounds for some lightweight title fights in the ring or even coming in overweight against corrales....when he faced bigger opponents in his proper division (140 or 147.) he got kayoed by hatton, corrales also stopped him as well....
How may times was lamotta stopped senya? And how many times was he knocked out for ten?
Finally, what relevance does this have to lamotta v floyd? Or maybe you think floyd can beat middleweights now? Why doesnt he fight pavlik, taylor or abraham then rather than picking on lt welter tiny hatton in the division above hattons natural weight?
