Floyd Mayweather's Best Performance?

His easiest fight was #48

 

A level= Champion material
B level= Gatekeeper/real contender
C level= Has beens, shot fighters, no hopers with some skill

 

80s Duran couldn't make 147lbs after probably 82 not sure but he's way past his prime 7 years at that point. 90s WW competition is no different from now or the early 2000s...

 

90's comparable to today?


I listed 4 ATG in the 90's and 2 ATGs and 2 B level fighters for today's era.

Ike Quartey would be a ****ing force today. Can't see any fighter beating him including Mayweather...

...Now that is not necessarily a knock on Floyd as Quartey was a real Welter Weight, with argaubly the best jab in boxing in the last 25 years.

Floyd doesn't like fighting fighters with great jabs.

# 48 big pay days are over, cant run on Moneys"fear" theme any more...soon to be reduced to gate keeper and stepping stone status and he will finish his career out cold on his back.

 

Thurman is not proven and in his last two fights against C level opposition, he looked like a B- level fighter. It's not like he's young either, he 27 and likely at his peak physically.

Porter is a B level fighter with very little skill who was beaten by a guy who didn't even make your WW list.

Maidana beat broner and lost to Floyd. That is his biggest accomplishment at WW. Not to mention he lost to Alexander, and was going life and death with Josesito Lopez who isn't even a real WW. Also worthy to note that he almost lost to a shot Morales.

JMM is a senior citizen, the fact that he can still be considered a top fighter at WW today proves how weak this era is.

 

Well the Sr. Citizen is in the folklore of boxing forever........

Eric was healthier against Maidana than he was concussed against Pac in the 2nd fight....

 

I'm just hearing the same arguments generation after generation and Floyd is still here. You can make one of these list good or bad since 98 on Floyd which just proves him more valuable to the sport than any of the above mentioned at any weight. Regardless of personal hero worship.....

He completely annihilated Barrera.

 

I'd personal rate the Chavez & Canelo fight's up there as some of his best performances.
Chavez was a hard fought war vs a guy who went on to win major titles at SFW&LW, JC put on tons of pressure throwing 100+ punches a rd. One of the most versatile fight's from Floyd, where you see him fight from all range's effectively ended in a 10rd TKO.
The Alvarez fight is his best showing since coming back, the cw takes some shine off it. Alvarez though was young unbeaten coming off his best win beating the then #2 and now #3JMW Trout. Vs PBF experience played the biggest factor but is was a high class chest match IMO, Canelo's bodywork and activity is underrated in some rds and can see him winning 2-4rds based off such. Canelo looks to be on the way to a HOF type career, should he beat Cotto next it will raise he profile even more.
